I keep trying to go for a run and giving up. No energy. And I'm eating loads. Don't know what's wrong with me. It's very annoying.

It happens, I had that much of last month...
It will go. -

how far are you getting before you give up TB? some of my runs I don't settle in until I'm about 4 miles in and then I feel 10x better than I did when I started.

The South London Press interviewed me about my marathon training.
Turns out that years of media training go out the window when it's personal and not work and I ended up wittering on about all sorts of things. That and a hideously unflattering photo and I think it's a winning combination. Pity donations welcome on my sponsorship page... -

This. The body takes a while to adjust to you forcing it to run. Perseverance will pay off.

Beautiful morning for running, a slight chill which wore off as the sun rose.
I would highly recommend the Transcendence series in Battersea Park, well organised, well marshalled, fruit and snacks at the end and liquids during the race.
10miles in 57:11.
Blimey, that's quick.
What did you run at Nottingham if you don't mind me asking?
Had an enjoyable appearance at Parkrun this morning, 2 miles each way to get there too made it a decent length.

Anything from 5 minutes to 5 miles. It's like my body's stopped releasing endorphins and they were the only reason running held any appeal :/
Unfortunately (apologies for oversharing) this has been happening since I switched to the contraceptive injection, so I think it might be that... And it sticks around in your body for three months so I'd better get used to running being really dull or I'm not going to get off the sofa for the next 10 weeks.

Tried xenon?

Never tried contraceptive injections....
Endorphin rushes get harder and harder to achieve as you become fitter and more used to running anyway. You have to look for other reasons to run.. self improvement, stress relief, competition.
Also recommend listening to music on long runs, even if 'real' runners frown on it.

When I started upping my distance a couple of years ago I found I could motivate myself to stay out for longer if I had something to entertain me. In my case I found a couple of podcasts that ran for 2 hours and just stayed out til they were done, didn't have to think about motivating myself to run, just listened.

I'm usually the happiest jogger in south London if I've got Kenickie or Elastica or Helen Love or something on the ipod but even that's not helping at the moment.
Hats, strong local media presence. I approve. Donated.

5k PB for me at Parkrune (RACE) this morning. 21.06
Still want under 20min one day...

After this morning's run, we now won't be in reading tomorrow. To say the GF is disappointed is an understatement but now she's over the initial frustration I think she sees it's the sensible option.

Ran 10 miles today. Which is 4 miles further than I've ever run before. It wasn't very quick at a 10:17 pace, but really pleased nonetheless. Quite enjoying this running lark, just as much as cycling in fact. It's nice to be able to exercise completely away from all traffic and noise which I'm not used to. Just delightful.

Which course?
Could easily drop a minute moving from a hilly offroad trail course to a panflat dulwich which is basically a running track. -

It's the Bournemouth course. You're completely right though, it's not flat and about 50% off road with loose mud, therefore I'm pretty happy with the time.

What happened?
She had to pull out last year due to knee issues and deferred her entry to this year. We've been working on some core exercises and a mix of S/B/R to keep training varied and not over emphasise the running and things have been going really well. We built up to a max of 19km at the end of January (Run on the Southern Upland Way in a snow storm, so hardly an easy run either) but a few runs later she started having pains in her knee again. She's backed off the running all Feb but did a couple of tester runs last week building up to 10km at the weekend where she felt strong and so she decided to go for it.
Over the last part of this week the knee has begun hurting again, at first hurting only at the end of a gentle 5km but by today she didn't even finish her final 3km jog.
She'll have a bit of time off running now I think, and then maybe think about some Tris/10ks later in the summer. She's gutted though because this is the first sporting challenge she's ever taken on and she's not made it 2 years running.

10k race (ha!) this morning, knee gave up 10 minutes in, dragged myself around the rest of the course but now can't walk without assistance. This was unexpected. Feeling very grouchy.

Blimey, that is quick! 46:57 here, got a bit overzealous on lap 2 when I caught a team mate and faded a bit on the last lap but I was still very happy with it.
I can't even fathom running 42 minutes, congrats.

Pretty pleased with this mornings yog, current 40th on the strava hm challenge:)
And according to my watch a pb by 30 seconds :)
That's a bit unlucky.
I'm pottering about the house doing chores (rest day) but very tempted to go out for a relaxed 10k.
