Wokingham Half this weekend has been cancelled, the course is flooded (8 inches deep and still rising apparently - pah, could have swum those bits). I'm actually gutted, I was kind of looking forward to it. I'd hired a car, coerced my housemate into cheering, bought snacks, worked out what to wear, what pace to run, everything. I'd even spent some time working on my nerves. I was LITERALLY raring to go.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a half I can do instead, ideally in Feb but super ideally not on the 16th?

you could always run bandit (without entering). think the etiquette is you join just after the start and leave just before the finish.

Well then I'm out. My medal haul at the moment consists of the consolation medal I got given at the Bushy Park 10k for being sick and a medal I won for winning the cereal box game at a friends party, so basically I'm not interested unless there are medals.

Just done my last bit of triathlon training for 8 days, would have liked to do my last 4 miles tonight but I want to spend some time with my dog before she goes to stay with my in laws while I'm on holiday!
forced myself to do half hour pyramid hill reps in the rain tonight,
simply because focusing on the reps, counting and banging out the climbs fast is good.
