  • The price does. In spades.

  • I put it on a shelf to find a satellite - then when it did, it vibrated it's way onto the floor and smashed the glass. I need a watch as it's for running.

    Garming do a flat-fee replacement service - £75 gets a reconditioned watch, but it takes 2 - 3 weeks.

Can't you use a bike garmin? I was going to use mine, as I don't really fancy buying more shiny electronic breakable things - you'd look a bit (more) daft but it would work, wouldn't it?

  • The merino jersey looks good for £45!

  • Heh - Ashmei.

Making Rapha look like second hand bog roll.

Looks like the weird shit star trek officers wear for holo-training.

Piss. I've com close to doing similar to this myself.

I'm browsing running shoes. I need road shoes. I may get some Newton Energys, and try a bit of bare foot stylee. Anybody tried newtons?

    Ah...XXL only.

I could do - but I don't have one. It's a pisser that even the cheapest Garmins cost £90+

The Fig Newtons apparently make you faster and looser.

If I can't ride my bike again soon then you can borrow mine.

Wont have the same functions (pace most importantly I guess). Plus. When I did this with my old Bryton GPS bike computer. It logged all my runs as rides. Which annoyed me more than it probably should.

  • On strava you mean? You can change this, I've recorded rides/runs the wrong way round before and changed it afterwards. Good point about pace though...

You can usually pick up 2nd hand Forerunner 10s for less than £60 on eBay.

I am still managing to aviod strava. Dunno why I dont like it. Just dont.

  • Not fashion statements. But look like a nice intro into barefoot running for those with a powerful relationship with gravity.

i just got a garmin forerunner 110. is as basic as you can get but does enough for basic training.

will probably treat myself to a forerunner 220 for chrimbo though.

  • These are cheaper. But I'm a bit scared to go full flat.

Dibs your 110 at xmas then.

I'm super happy with my Skora Base shoes. Not completely flat and slightly less garish than the newtons..

  • when I went to go for my run this morning. I grabbed my shoes from where i'd left them on saturday and noticed that the left one was one of my new pair and the right was from my old pair.

so on saturday I'd gone out running with mismatched shoes on.... :(

    googling.....

  • 13mm stack height, definitely interesting.

  • I'm waiting for the new FR 220 to appear and either get that if it's super awesome or the newly cheaper FR210. The 110 is no good for doing interval training, which is a key requirement for me.

  • ^ the vibrating alerts is a big reason why i want the fr220 but i wont be up to the point of 'needing' it properly until mid-late dec i think based on my current training plan.

  • Release date looks like 1st dec from my googling on friday.

  • Maybe its the weight of the thing. But the vibration on the 910xt is pretty intense. I'm too lazy for interval training. Frankly I hate it. So I pace train. Nice pace alert every km to keep me honest, and a glance at assended/dessended meters if I was very fast, or very slow.

I've learnt to use my virtual racer now too.

It may have seemed a bit unhinged to harbour a deep hatred for the 'virtual partner' (total arrogant cunt). But its even more fucked up to start cursing last months version of your very self.
