Right on the "hinge", towards the front/side.
Oops missed this ^
That sore hip I mentioned got worse on Saturday - walked to town, felt a twinge, then couldn't step on it without wincing. Very, very painful. Going to give it a few days rest, just riding to work and back.
When standing, does it hurt to lift your leg up and towards your chest? -

How is cycling on it?

My Skora Base's just arrived after ordering aaages ago on SportPursuit(insert spam row here). Haven't run in them yet but pottering around they feel fucking amazing. Look like they'll be fairly unforgiving on heel strikes but that's kinda the idea really.
They look less orthopedic in the flesh. First run in em tomorrow, hopefully they'll be broken in and comfy ready for Henley half next month. -

Just back from seeing the forum physio, aka bluerip00, aka Michael. Had some surprise acupuncture!
My own hip issue is caused by my left knee rotating inwards when I land on it, which has taken its toll on the muscles between the pelvis and top of the femur. Good news is that running on it won't do any long term damage, so I've been given the all-clear to at least start the Ealing half on Sunday.
Other good news is that in the longer term with appropriate treatment and strengthening it should be fixable. Apparently my leg muscles are perfectly strong, but not very coordinated.

Has the London ballot been announced yet? Judging by my brother's instagram he hasn't got a place and as I'm away atm I don't know whether to live in ignorance a little longer or get my housemates to open my post...

Also, I can currently see an Amsterdam running club doing hill reps up the side of a building. I guess you have to get your hills where you can.

Sorry to hear you didn't get a place Ed. I've texted my housemates, fingers crossed (still can't decide if I'm hoping I do or don't get a place).

So, how does one step up from halves to training for a full marathon? I've thus far got by on brute force and ignorance more or less but presume that won't be the case here.
Higdon(sp?) app worth a shot? -

Nah, that's ages. You're already well into it, what with running sub-2 halves.

Anyone interested in these?
I tried them on, found they didn't fit and put them back in the box.
They come up half a size small in my view.
