The older plastic ones are fine, if a little uncomfortable.

Kool Keith's raps are a bit too freaky for me. Need to do 120km this month. Might make my challenge to listen to the Wu Albums chronologically and make the distance before the albums start getting shite (Probably Golden Arms Redemption 1999)

How far are you going with that, I mean, does Cap count? All the Wu affiliates?

Does it mean anything that my trainers are heavily worn on the outer half of the sole & only lightly worn on the inner half? The outside edge is down to the mid-sole but the inside edge still has several mm of outsole. They're Brooks Adrenalines and need replacing, I'm not sure if I should be looking at different models or just get another pair of the same.

Thanks Greenbank, this makes sense, never really given any thought to pronation before. Seems like the Adrenaline is marketed as a 'support' shoe to correct mild/moderate overpronation, so presumably I should switch to a 'neutral' shoe that's not meant for over pronators.
I bought the Brooks Adrenalines because at the time they were the only shoes I could find in a 2E width. Does anyone have any recommendations for where I should look for neutral shoes in a 2E width? Or anything that comes with a very wide forefoot? Brooks have something called the glycerin but it doesn't seem to get great reviews.

Go to a good running shop (one with a treadmill where they can video you running) and seek their advice. Forget brands, forget colours/styles.
Remember the advice, then buy subsequent shoes from the same shop (or more cheaply on the Internet). (EDIT: to be clear I mean buy at least one pair of shoes, ideally all, from that shop. Don't just go to the shop and get advice and buy nothing from them.)

+1, but buy in shop if you use their services and want them there next time you need new shoes

Agreed, if you take 20-30 minutes of someone's time, you ought to pay the £10-£15 extra you'd have saved online.

+more on buying shoes in store. Buying shoes online is more trouble than it's worth anyway - not only do they get delivered to your neighbours house but they never fit quite right and you have to spend your lunchtime queuing at the post office to send them back.

I wasn't suggesting buying online after getting advice in the shop.
I buy stuff on the Internet if I know it will fit, so I know I can buy more pairs of my current trainers online with a very high confidence that they'll fit. More often than not the price in the shop is still competitive (especially with various sales and discounts) once you factor in the faff of deliveries, but sometimes there are end of season online deals that just can't be passed up.
Of course, some will claim that I should just pay more and always support the local running shop for every purchase. If money wasn't tight I'd like to think I'd do that.

I can't always use running shops either, as there are limited choices for vegan running shoes. Usually have to do the research, take the risk with fit and comfort and buy online.

I once did steal a penny cool when I was 6. Worst heist ever, just stood outside drinking it in sight of the shopkeeper

I would like to know more about vegan running shoes, if you wouldn't mind sharing your research?
