  • Fucking hell he’s taking a pasting!

  • Roooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot

  • Just trying to see where Joe Root's double ton sits in the English Test pantheon,
    and found this on Wiki:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_England_Test_cricket_records#Individual_records
Is that a possum on Herbert Sutcliffe's shoulder?

  • Thanks!
I never cease to be amazed at the expertise of contributors to this forum.

  • It does prompt the follow up question:
Was the Sutcliffe/possum photo one of a series of touring cricketers with marsupials on ther shoulders?

  • Yup. A tame one, as they can be feisty little chaps, despite being very cute.

  • I believe a rare cigarette card of Patsy Hendren with a bandicoot on his shoulder sold for over £40,000 at Sotheby's last year. The series was discontinued after a shoot with Jack Hobbs and a recalcitrant thylacine caused him to miss a couple of Tests.

  • thylacine

Their second, recent appearance on this Forum,
    that never stops giving.

  • How do you perform that search? I only seem to be able to search thread titles rather than content.

  • Ha,
someone asking me how to use the Search function, on here!

I took the path of least resistance,
    and,
assumed @velocio set this place up to be helpful.

Untick the box in the attached screengrab,
    and,
    I received the above result.

  • Thanks. I still can’t work it out.

Back to cricket - this bowling attack is lacking someone who can do the donkey work on a dry surface and still offer some threat. I’m not sure these conditions are right for Curran to be that man. Woakes should be back for the next test thankfully.

Cue an England collapse chasing 160 tomorrow.

  • How do you perform that search? I only seem to be able to search thread titles rather than content.

In meapilus' screen grab, the magic combination is to have "comments" ticked and "title matched search terms" unticked.

  • This is beyond frustrating

  • Leachyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • meapilus?

Who is this Romanised version of the Road Runner?

  • England to finish the day at a perilous 37-5?

  • Buttler & Bairstow to open, in T20 mode?

  • Oof Sibbers

  • England to finish the day at a perilous 37-5?

    It's tradition.

  • 37-5 is looking very optimistic.

  • Absolutely classic England, at least you can't ever say it's boring 😂

  • eurgh

  • Is there a better sport than test cricket for tension?

  • England currently cruising* at 38-3 as bad light (mercifully) stops play.

Remember, kids, never place any bets on my predictions.

[*'cruising' in the sense of 'Where the Hell did that ball go?'].
