With Compton and Rutherford opening for England and NZ respectively, it'll be a battle of minds.

great day in test cricket for new zealand!
I just wanted to type that as you don't get the chance very often.

Much needed comeback from England's openers.
Agree... draw most likely outcome -

All the hysterical screeching after first innings show was a little grating. So last evenings showing was satisfying.
As a captain Vaughan was ace - his media work seems to me to be less natural, and a bit same as everyone else but because I'm saying it it means more.
Its a good England team and there are very few assured places, NZ have been much better than everyone expected. This test is not over but I agree a draw

Yep draw on the cards, pleased for Compton. I dont mind Vaughan on TMS, always gives an honest opinion.

The story about four Aussie test players being punished/deselected/sent home from India because they did not respond in time to the managements mail asking them to suggest the three improvements, did make me wonder about how corporate professional sports is now and smile and grimace a little.
I am loathe to say Batting, Fielding and Bowling would be the improvements but I will anyway

Last test tomorrow. Weather is looking good so we should get a result. Considering we have only had about 3 days on rain in the last two months having two rain affected tests is pretty unlucky.
Got tickets for Sunday. Cant wait!

Excellent rendition of the Imperial March on the trumpet there

And 'lazing on a sunny afternoon'
Now need some more wickets -
• #2589
Working nights this week TMS you area saviour, quite enjoying todays cricket, has a bit more edge today well in that i mean there are wickets happening
-
• #2590
True more edges last night

• #2591
Tense last day with England needing to bat all day to draw the match and the series.
If I didn't love cricket this would seem such a dull slow tedious sport.
Lovely cricket -

Thought you might be listening David.. TMS in the background tonight is the best antidote to this godawful weather. England trying to bat out a whole day just for a draw seems to capture to beauty/ludicrousness of cricket* to me...
*delete as appropriate

Ludicrous beauty sums it up nicely
And TMS is perfect radio.
Meaningless endless wittering, white noise from middle age white men
Pure entertaiment -

If we are still in at 5pm I am heading up to Eden Park to catch the last hour. Not holding my breath though.
Sunday was an awsome day. Sat in with the barmy army singing away. Bit of reading the paper. A few wickets and a couple of beers.

What a shift. Bet Boycott was salivating over Broads 61 balls without scoring.
I've list count of the number of times Matt Prior has dug England out of a hole
-
• #2596
great days worth of defensive batting by england many records were broken and panesars dive meant to be one of the all time classic funny moments
well done plucky brits -
• #2597
...Broads 61 balls without scoring...
I thought this was a BBC typo when I read it on there..
Well played, England. (finally)
-
• #2598
i think he now holds the world record for time spent on 0
-
• #2599
He also made a fifty partnership, without scoring.

only the third team in history to bat a full last day from 4 wickets down
Yes TMS through the night is comforting
(18 for 3)
