Subs for league matches - ruling please

We start ranking players then its gonna add more grief.

Who said anything about ranking players?

Bill started this thread and asked for a ruling. I'm assuming that, as we've done in the past, the rules will stay the same as set out initially, but that we'll be able to discuss what might happen in the next league.

i think at this moment in time and for this seasons league we should play this out...otty as we have said from the initial meeting its a trial run.

I think its good to discuss this now and maybe for the next league come up with a few suggestions?

me, as a pre-emptive. zombie are below you in the league. mike is skillful would you have accepted mike playing for LC?

For the next league we could maybe use non-league players as subs as this will help to get other players involved in competitive games, especially as we're now getting more and more new players.

It's often frustrating for the non-league players to just watch, knowing they have to wait months til the next league starts.

+1, I like the idea too. but have in mind that for next season more teams can join the league.

I would 100% rather postpone a match than not play with our original 3, but if we really had to get a sub, i'd definitely ask Stelle :)

Another suggestion would be to allow teams to have 4 registered players.

Obviously only 3 play per game, but teams can switch players for each game depending on tactics, opponents, specific abilities and availability.

Would add another dimension to the tactics and gameplay and erradicate the problems of finding suitable subs.

Feeling that idea less than your original suggestion.

I proposed a sort of handicapping method of using subs of higher or lower skill than the team they were subbing on and it was shot down for one reason that it could lead to strategically choosing a lesser than sub by a strong team to get a handicap (or something like that, it seems like ages ago now!) And another reason being that it's too complicated.

How are you going to start ranking players anyways? goals? saves? passes? running interference? chemistry?

I feel that anybody present can sub on the day of. 1 sub per team per fixture maximum.

And Matt, I am really serious in my dissappointment. The rumors were pretty much saying you lot bullied LC and actually chose their sub for them. I'm not only disappointed that you guys would do that but that LC and everybody present would stand for it, that's not on, the first rule of the league is that it's owned by the players.
Now that the light has come out it's not as bad as it seemed and this has possibly brought about another topic to work out for the next league guidelines.
I'm curious if you guys would have kicked off if Yorgo and I had chosen Brendan, Aidan or Dave as our sub in our game against Malice?

we want more teams in the league. I don't want to sub from someone who isnt in the league, because they will be shit, because everyone who can play will join the league next time. Your team is your team, you should have pride in it and not want to play with anyone else. I don't I'd play with aidan and dave even if they were injured and not upto par as long as they wanted to play. Thats the point of being a team. All this use of ringers or subs is balls. We stated anyone can be a sub at the beginning of the season, ANYONE. We did not for instance state what happens when a team wholly changes a player, as in the case of zombies or moving targets, but nobody mentions that. People have got who they wanted to play as subs all season, why should it change now? Mike subbed for roxy, Bill has whored himself out all over the league and i have been asked to sub if i have time too... pah . toc toc toc these romans are crazy.
