you will not re-coup money on frame and there is a good chance you will break it again.
You cnut, you saying i'm fat?
I'm not gonna sell it now, just another project to keep me busy up until summer, then i'll keep it for the lad when he's older... and he'll flog it for a flick-knife or something :)

cough....bullshit.......cough. on both counts!

Ahhh bless ya, you're saying i'm not fat :D
Anyway, it's not always about re-couping money, you should know that what with all the dosh you spent on the Holdsworth... for me it's more about keeping occupied doing something that interests me. So there.
And little Tarquin's gonna need to be 'tooled up' living round my area!!

Opinions invited... I have until friday to decide whether to put extra white stripes onto my seat tube.. It currently has one 15cm band of white with the stan butler logo.... I can have as many as I like and can either be an inch and a bit or about 1cm... thoughts?
Examples..
Currently only has one band like this -
But could have more like these -

.....apparently according to Geoffrey Butlers "potted history" that they sent me awhile ago confirm he was indeed Clauds brother and initially traded together as a Claud Butler outlet, Geoffrey acquired the lease for himself and re-branded in 1956 but died a year later, Stan Butler was no relation (he was father to Keith and grandson Gethin)
hope this to be of help

money wise i was fine with holdsworth.
stripes

....could be that Geoffrey and Claud decided on this move to split in Oct.1956 as Claud was already aware of dark clouds looming with his tax affairs (eventually went bankrupt a few months later and the Claud Butler name was sold on to Holdsworths who continued with this popular brand on their second tier bikes trading on the integrity of the name)

And he's back!
Overall, i'm very pleased, £60 for the repair work and £100 for the new paint, stripes, filling of the odd dent here and there, original 50/60's decals and gold luglining then lacquer..
It's not perfect though, one of the transfers is slightly wrinkled and the other not straight, some luglining has kind of bubbled up a little and I have found the odd bit of dirt/grease behind he laquer.... but overall I'd say for £100 it's pretty damned good... plus Mario really is a nice little chap :)
Next step.... bits!!!!

bobob, nice job, but I've got to say I preferred the baby blue, still looks beautiful though, loving the decal saying "the allin", and the original faded headtube badge, touch of class that.

envy. what size is s/he, out of interest? -

for the price the quality is top, i especially love the headtube, add a sense of class and show that this bike is actually old.

CB- I loved the baby blue.... just fancied a change, liking this colour lots :)
Stelle- It's a wee bit small for me, about 56 (or 21 1/2")
Ed- We all like a bit of voyeurism :)
Velly true sir, I believed they did work/train (?) at the smae place though, but no, no relation at all :)
