  • ah, sorry, i guess i was just being thick then

  • mend it mend it mend it!

i crashed my allin (road conversion) the other day and i think it'll be too expensive for the insurance to mend. they're lovely bikes. it probably does take a 27" wheel. mine does, and it's a lot later. pic is with 27" aero rim...

  • btw, bobob, what size is it?

because if you do decide to sell... ;-)

  • Sorry Hassan Ive just realized that it wasn't a caygil you were building up... or was it? Oh my brain...

Anyway bump is fine and in 6 weeks he'll be popping out into our world.. What a lovely thought :s

Yep the wheels are 700 but was built for 27's, I just didn't have any back then to put on it so threw some deep vs at it. Not sure of the frame size, I suppose in modern day terms it must be a 56/7 def not a 58 though

  • Oh and if you decide to sell those wheels.... :)

  • YUM.

Same lugs as my Harry Hall.

  • Still makes me snivvle....

  • looking at that luglining now, it's shocking close up!! Hope vaz does a better job....

Anyway, I was thinking a nice grey colour... any other thoughts?

  • like that do-dah bike --

  • gun-metal ftw

  • With darker grey lugs....?

  • Or yellow lined.

  • fuscia. With brown polka dots, with neon green polka dots off-centred in each brown polka dot. With glow in the dark luglining.

  • Pink with purple and green dots on the main triangle. Chrome with pink pinstripes on the forks and stays.

What colour do you think I should paint my bathroom?

    .

  • Fix it and sell it Toby. If the one below is worth £375 then you should get a fair whack for it.

  • mend it mend it mend it!

Thats one of the prettiest bikes I have ever seen. You have style! Where on earth did you find 27" aero rims?

I love the way it looks reminiscent of a fat tyre cruiser, but will actually ride really well.

  • i thought the allins stan butler came only in road bike form ?
i have seen some their ad's for bikes around and there didn't appear to be a track frame ? it must be a custom jobbie i guess ? where did you get the decals as they don't look quite like the ones on my allins they look like a different font ?
pj has also got a stan butler although haven't seen it in the flesh
do those decals look right to you pj ?

here is a good link to info about allins
    the decals looks very different

  • Hi Dicki, I've had that page bookmarked for a couple of years now :)

No the decals are awful and have just been 'slapped' on after a crude respray... the old chap I bought it off knew one of the Butlers, maybe even Stan I can't remember, he said it was originally made by Stan for a bike club somewhere is Surrey (name escapes me) as a one off, It's difficult to actually prove any of it, it does hold the allin badge and the frame number stamped on the rear drop-out is in line with their order book (if only I could get hold of it!!!), anyway.... it's lovely and the more I type the more I want to keep it :)

Not sure of what decals to put on it when it's repaired and repainted... its a tough one as have never seen a picture of an allin 'track/path' frame before :S

The more I read everyones comment the more I think selling this once it's finished will be a bad move.... it appears to be quite rare, i'm not sure how much caz knows but he was telling me how uncommon it was the other day, he even tried to offer me dosh for it :)

  • Keep it for the little one to grow into, and in the meantime let me borrow it every third Tuesday (the bike that is).

  • Do you want to trade for a double buggy, changing mat and bottle warmer?

Go on, take the baby!!! :)

    Are they NJS?

Whilst i'm here I have just checked the serial number and it is 1463 so 1960/1 I reckon.

Am on the look out for similar period parts if anyone wants to part with them :)

  • Make sure you moan at Vaz how important it is he does a good job (tell him you saw my Mercian and weren't too impressed, if you like), you need to really stay on top of him... Remind him about the lug lining a day or two before you pick up the bike, he did mine on the spot!?! I've seen some great stuff come out of his place (as well as some shit)...

  • very nice frame that.

is stan a brother of claude and geoffrey?
