  • To be fair the only bit of tweed I'm rocking is my jacket.. Moleskin plus fours shall be sported also

  • As long as it's within the correct period I'm sure it's fine. The only tweed I have is a cap and my plus twos. the rest will be off-white jumper, socks and beige converse >> <<

  • I'll be wearing a Peruvian jumper made out of alpaca instead!

  • I'll be wearing a Peruvian jumper made out of alpaca instead!

Brrr ... you must mean alpaca wool ...

  • does anyone have a bullhorn that we can borrow on saturday?

  • does anyone have a bullhorn that we can borrow on saturday?

    i'll ask around

  • HELP! HELP!

and does anyone have access to a free a3 colour printer, and want to give us a hand by printing out some route maps to hand out? pm me, please...

  • Very far from free but I can do it for 40p a sheet at uni (no idea how this compares to newsagents/copy shops).

  • HELP! HELP!

why not get it photocopies? printing would be quite a waste!

  • why not get it photocopies? printing would be quite a waste!

Because he's trying to do it with style and panache. It would be a nice little memento.
A photocopy would probably just get lobbed in the bin at the end. Quite a waste.

  • teddy my dear fellow, PM sent regarding maps.

I'm in a spot of bother, my breeks have 1 day to arrive (today) or I shall have to resort to wearing a most gastly fabric...denim.

Heaven to Bettsy! Surely the American blue stuff is banned from such a jaunt?
What size are you? I've got a pair of dog tooth plus fours. They are a 32ish.
I can bring them down as back up?

colour photocopies still can look great, bit more expensive than black and white.

  • Oh, you meant waste of money.
I think he asked for use of a free colour printer.

Thank you kind Sir, alas I have been living quite an indulgent lifestyle clearly manifest in my generous waistline, which I fear will never be able to accommodate the said garment.

  • my tweed will be restricted to waistcoat and cap. Moleskin and barbour ftw.
To all those who need to cadge a bowl of shag i have prepared an almond and lime blend. Quite acidic but a tasty smoke.

Sounds an intriguing combination Sir certainly guaranteed to get the whiskers twicthing with taste. I may cadge the odd bowl

In terms of trousering, having been exhorbitantly outbid on some brown moleskin breeks I was after on ebay...and having rather a lot of time on my hands at present, I took needle and thread to some charity shop specials and hey presto...a pair of plus fours with homestyle panache....my days as a child of blue petering have not been entirely wasted

Plus fours, tick. Large socks, tick. Disturbing jacket, tick. Sculpted facial hair (tick tomorrow am). Rabbit hat, tick. Man bag, tick.

The weather is set fair, and I look forward to meeting some of you tomorrow. Exceptional work Teddy.

  • In terms of trousering, having been exhorbitantly outbid on some brown moleskin breeks I was after on ebay...and having rather a lot of time on my hands at present, I took needle and thread to some charity shop specials and hey presto...a pair of plus fours with homestyle panache....my days as a child of blue petering have not been entirely wasted

I too have experienced trouserage issues. My town, being in the parochial hinterland, has a serious tweed shortage. A pair or moleskin troosers and some squaddie elastic thingies will have to do here. I fear I shall not be going home in a dapper new 'sofshell' jacket, made presumably from the carapices of members of the Trionychidae family.

Oh, also it appears to be pissing down in Londinium at the moment. Forecast says sun for tomorrow though. We live in hope.

  • teddy my dear fellow, PM sent regarding maps.

I'm in a spot of bother, my breeks have 1 day to arrive (today) or I shall have to resort to wearing a most gastly fabric...denim.

As quoted in 'The Chap' do's and dont's of tweed special.......

Dont No1: Ever wear tweed with jeans.

Dont No2: Ever ever wear jeans!

  • Unfortunately I will not be able to attend tomorrow's excellent event. I trust you will all have a jolly good day out.

A heavy drop will slow you lot right down! A day weighing 2 stone more smelling of wet dead old people doesn't come with that same gentry feeling the ride originally invokes
