No, missed a trick there! Asked for directions at the bike shop in Peaslake though, the guy pointed up a big hill before noticing that I was riding fixed and giggling.
Well, next time..
Probably wasn't personal, he was probably just having a practice chukkle ahead of his next trip to the bank, as you will have gathered if you looked at the prices of anything in there!

As an aside/future ride destination, they do a fantastic fair there each August Bank Holiday, featuring, amongst many other good things, a fantastic human fruit machine.

It looked like there are plenty of nice routes around there to choose from. Definitely going to do a bit more exploring, so thanks for the suggestion. That hill down from ranmore common to the A25 is deinitely more fun to go down than to get back up. 18% or something?

Human fruit machines ftw. Might start carring a banana, orange and apple in my jersey, one per pocket.

Surrey Hills

If anyone wants to follow the cue sheet on this, it's a RIGHT onto Miles Lane at 6.3 miles (cue sheet says left), and you turn right at a T-junction after the slight right at Mizen Way (not on cue sheet). That's where we went wrong. Then thought we'd picked up the route again when we came to "the street" but it was the wrong "the street".

How do you search for user-generated routes on googlemaps
You used to be able to search for usergenerated content but they seemed to have removed the feature
I can't think why they would - it was great for finding new cycle routes people had made and my own!?I hope im just being an idiot can anyone help?

Arvy really like the look of that ride to Brighton. How long did it take you to ride it (or anyone else that's done it)?
Edit....
Did this ride yesterday, apart from missing the turning up ditching hill it was a really smooth run down. Armed with googlemaps on my phone and an a4printout of directions. I got ridiculously sunburnt too. In April?
Anyway, thanks for posting it up. Was great day out.

Nice map Neilp! Anyone ever done the London six peak challenge and have a good route for it? Something like Neilp's map would be amazing. We're planning to do one in late June if others interested.

What's the best route out of South London towards Croydon avoiding Crystal Palace and its hills of death? I fancy getting some miles in today but my back will be fucked for the rest of the week if I take it up too many 'inclines'... TIA...

A to B to Seaford route

Brixton to Wivelsfield follows the Brighton route but then turn left out of the end of Slug Wash Lane rather than right and get on to South Street, and head, uhh, South.
Same kind of beach as Brighton but without all the Brighton Beach Scumbags

hey, does anyone know of a quiet route, that's pretty simple, up to St Alban's in Herts?
