I've not heard that joke before.
With your quick wit and keen sense of irony, you won't be looking for a job for long.

does anyone want to hire a freelance sub-editor? ie me.
Not on the evidence of the literary skills you just displayed...

Only a mere 3 days after the argument has dissolved and BANG you're in there like a shot, with an Ian Hislop-esque attack.
You've knocked me down a peg or two.

Q: How do you fit an elephant into a Safeway carrier bag?
A: You take the 's' out of Safe and the 'f' out of way.

I am 'The Thread Ender'. Most threads i take part in, i've discovered, i bring to a grinding halt with some ill-informed irrelevant comment. If there was a soap opera called 'ThreadEnders' I'd be in it, at the very end, in the background, sweeping the streets or buffing a wing mirror. or something.... i'll get me coat.

hat he chewed sounds like attitude, hence 'i don't like your attutude.' indignant response: 'it's not my hat he chewed'. da da

FWIW, I've a Bianchi Pista and for £425 it's not a bad deal at all. Now it's £550 I'm not so sure I'd have bought one. But it rides well enough and most of the components are coping with the daily commute without any problems.

not yet till I find a nice track frame to replace it, perferrably Italian or similar (probably from Tour De Ville), summat like that;
Never liked going through a day without riding a bike let alone a week, saying that it's probably a little bit useful to have two everyday fixed wheel bike.
Hat He Chewed (from the joke: a man and his dog walk into a bar, sit at bar with drink, dog nibbles hat of man next to him: after a confrontation in which dog owner is rude, the hat owner responds that dog owner has a unpleasant disposition, prompting 'it's not my hat he chewed' response from dog man, one of my fave jokes that, along with: how do you fit an elephant into a Safeway carrier bag? anyone know that one? i'll be happy to tell it, it's a side-splitter, maybe after i've 'told' it the forum could decide which one is best. or not.) is my hero. he's standing up to all you horrid forum bullies, you all scare me with your angriness. i feel like crying sometimes when i read your beastly, withering put downs. Did my grandad sacrifice admittedly very little and in fact make a lot of friends in the Great War for this???!! All you needed to say to the poor man was: buy both bikes and after 30 years of regular use you'll soon know which bike has the beating of the other. I'm so sad, but Hat He Chewed is an inspiration to all of us, ps does anyone want to hire a freelance sub-editor? ie me.
