Guardian (well some bloke from Kerrang) have done a top 10 heaviest albums
http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/musicblog/2011/nov/10/10-heaviest-albums-all-time
For a list is't not too bad*
*Not too bad = I actually like half of them, maybe even 6.

Does anyone know of any decent radio shows, podcasts, blogs etc that cover good new metal bands? I'm feeling somewhat out of the loop. Listening to 6 music doesn't really help, the heaviest thing they play is Jim Jones Revue (not heavy, loud dad rock).

This should probably see you right
get out to gigs, that's my suggestion see support bands and go from there

Nick knows better than that, but he's guided by Kerrang, his album is heavier than a couple there.
Machine Head can just fuck right off I fucking hate machine head with the exception of davidian. but seeing that live still drives me to rage, the fucking pricks... and breathe
