Pretty happy with this wheelset for 50 notes. Only been using the rear so far, quite heavy, but then so am I.
Definitely stronger than the 32h I had on there before...

Finally got round to freshening my janky polo bike, just waiting for the final bits for my conversion to disc brake.

Shane, what's your gearing? It looks smaller than mine and I spin out far too quickly...

at bristol it was a 22 18, not by choice. it's now a 22 14.

Assuming an overall tyre diameter of 690mm, that's about 42 gear inches, a trendy gear.
On the 18 sprocket you had about 33.5 gear inches.

Im not really fluent in gear inches, 22 18 was mental, but I had no other options at short notice, new gearing feels nice tho.

I love the 'gabes = bored bumpkin' tag.

40-45" = current polo trend.
60-70" = hilly road fixed
70-80" = normal road fixed
80-90" = track gears
90"+ = HTFU gearing. -

em, whats the gear inch of 34 x 22 on 26 wheels, 1.5 tyre, compared to the same (34x22) on 700 x 35 ?

26" = 38.4, 700c = 42.0
If you're talking 35c Kojaks, they measure more like 30-31c so your 700c is something like 41.7

Doesn't change your GI.

Crank length affects your gain ratio, not gear inches.
Gear inches = (Front teeth / back teeth, * drive wheel diameter (in inches))
