  • #misses LDN.
    Almost Rep'd Gabes but didn't for not replying to me a while ago.

    Ryan's bikes are getting better and better. Amazing. I see the forks are getting thinner and the BB Shell's are getting wider?
    And is the trend back to 120 OLD?

  • each one is different joni, there is no one oak to rule them all.

  • You lot are on good form.

    Loving the bikes.

  • I don't care if it was a page ago;

    I like Avid levers a lot, largely due to their shape and mechanical advantage. Despite having the frame built for 2 brakes, can't see me going back from FBO.

  • This.

    In other news I put a layback on my hija this morning, and the riding position is soo much nicer

  • Hi Guys. Im from Kraków ( I really don't know if I should post here, but I haven't found anything about posting ban for non-London users ). I've just made a custom polo bike and i'm looking for any opinions, because it was my very first polo bike and I wasn't sure how to deal with all the geometry stuff etc etc. I'm just curious what do you think about it. Here are the photos:

    Thank you for all the opinions :) Cheers

  • Got the geometry sheet for that?

  • absolutely you can post here. Welcome.

  • @it's based on milwuakee bruiser 46 :)

  • The forks looks like they have more rake than the bruiser?

    @it's based on milwuakee bruiser 46 :)

  • Yep , I've got other fork. At the first we were trying to put there a bruiser-like fork but there was a problem with a overlap.
    With my bike engineer ( very experienced guy ) we've decided that this fork will be perfect - and it's really is. At the start I was concerned that bike will be too long but now i am really surprised with the handlebar (wheel) angle (close to 90 degrees ) that i can achieve when i'm riding this bike.

  • Has anyone tried Time Z freeride pedals for polo?
    http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=4739

  • I have Z's on my mtb, I briefly tried the on them the polo bike. I could feel a difference in sole stiffness between Z's and Aliums when I tried them back to back, but the difference was minimal. I would go for Aliums if that was the choice instead. Less chance of pedal-strike as they're smaller and theyre probably cheaper

  • Am I right in thinking that Aliums have been discontinued?

  • I think so, but they come up cheap on eBay oftern. I got a set for £9....

    The seriously old school time pedals are the best for polo IMO

  • and they look best!

    Can´t find them in Austria.

  • Sort it aht, grandad...

  • the fuck is that ^

  • Eddy Edisons' set-up in Puerto Rico.

  • looks bigger than what it is

  • True, to put it in context it's propped up against a bar. It's tiny.

  • quick question, is the benefit of flat bars just that you can run a lever and rigid lock-on grips without the bars being superwide or is it anything to do with steering and geometry too?

  • It's so that you can run narrower bars and not be placing the stem on the upsweep of a riser, which leaves the brake lever in an un-ergonomic position. Also, assuming you run the same stem, it lowers your position and moves your shoulders forward which can centralise your weight more, depending on your set-up.

    If you're running wider bars, a flat bar is not necessary for lever ergonomics.
