It's 26" >;0 ?!?!!?!
-
• #9053
that's 26 for sure, but looks like it has v-mounts for 700

Has anyone tried using Hammerschmidt cranks on a polo bike? Do they make a worthwhile difference on the gearing?
-
• #9055
But the bb shell looks to be like 100mm wide? And the clearances are a bit OTT.
Oh well, look forward to complete build pics -

^^With a 15t freewheel you could get 41 and 65ish gear inches on 26", could be good for people who ride a bit further to get to polo but don't want too much extra weight from an alfine or whatever.
-
• #9057
But you'd need a mini freewheel or a cassette hub to get 15t at the rear.
-
• #9058
True. 39ish and 61ish with a 16t, if you're on a freewheel. Although if you're dropping £300 on cranks then a new wheel is probably within your grasp.

here is one of my idea for my new bike, i posted it on lobp but i past it here too:
http://leagueofbikepolo.com/forum/gear/frames/2012/10/02/frame-geometry-what-are-you-thinking-about-this-one-700-sloppy-54x54#comment-106897
My actual kona is way to big for me (56).
I need something shorter and with an harder angle on the head tube (my kona is more than 72 right now).
but i don't want toe overlap and keep 700's, so i can't make it shorter i think.here are my questions to people who knows a lil' bit about frame building:
-Is slope top tube an advantage for rigidity?
-What's the minimal distance with a 170 classical sughino crankset to the front tire to avoid toe overlap?
-How a bike like this one would react to a lot of hop' play?I made this geometry sloppy as that also to get a 90° angle between seat tube and top tube, and head tube.
This would help the friend who gonna make the frame, and i was thinking 90° is a good angle, any opinions about it?

In terms of the frame, yes it will be more rigid, but you'll get more flex in the seatpost (for the same saddle height). So, the wheels will track more consistently relative to each other, but rider weight may move around a bit more. -

It's like a pompino...

Does somebody have the link where i can find the whole pompino geo informations?

Thanks,
True that's like a pompino so. Just with a shorter chainstay.
Does people who were riding Ppino get issues with toe overlap on 54 size?
-
• #9065
The small one has massive toe overlap, I think the medium is OK but probably depends on cranks and feet.
-
• #9066
Beagle will know, pretty sure he's on a medium Pomp...
-
• #9067
I've got a medium pompetamine frame with Kona p2 forks. Not sure of the crank length but toe overlap is never much of an issue.

• #9068
The medium is the 16" or the 18" ?

16"

I'd get the Dolan Pre Cursa, Clem. It'll be light, stiff, and it's really cheap.

Run it with 26" obviously. Wider tyres and a lower BB.

Oh well, look forward to complete build picsLooks like it could be a press fit BB.
Clearances are huge. That tyre looks like it's around 2" mark, there's probably enough space in there for a 3" or a 29"x2"
It's going to be interesting but I'm not holding my hopes too high.

I heard many EXS frame get fucked around the BB. So im bit worried about cheap aluminium, you think this one could be better?
Anyway sammy from Tri-spade and moteurfucker team (the goal keeper) agree to make me a custom frame. So i would get a steel frame.
Any advice on the minimal distance between 170 crankset and tire to avoid toe overlap? -

I thought clem wanted 700?
What the flip?!
