  • I'm using an 80mm stem, it's lush compared to when it had a 40mm

  • I've broken 2 alu bars. One at west polo... One on the road... So probably doesn't mean anything except I'm a fat bastard.

I also have some alu bullhorns (chopped drops) that were bend in an accident and I've ridden for years since with no issue...

    CSB.

  • @ JohnH

I had a 60mm stem on my MaxP until a few weeks ago when I get to 80mm... I've found both have benifits and flaws. I'm going back to 60mm as I want to see if I'm just having a case of the grass is always greener... might give a 70 a go if it still doesn't feel right.

Point is i don't think you can know until you've tried it out.

  • finally got sorted.

medium pomp/random alu forks powdercoated black
old MKE pologuard w/ sug cranks
    36h chukkers
    35/22
steerer needs cutting after I decide how low I want the stem, apart from that it's nearly there

thanks very much to prav and Push.

  • ha, I just read my post back. I agree with Max

  • its all about the 35mm stem! going to get one of these soon.. (after wheels and a paintjob so probably not soon at all)

  • But then your stem would be 7mm too long.

  • but alot lighter!

  • Anyone playing polo on a tiny bike? I find regular sized bikes somewhat unwieldily to chuck around like you need to for polo or trix.

Im thinking of putting together bike with either 24" or 20" wheels. For polo, like a kids MTB but with long seatpost. Am I going down a pointless path here or can you more experienced players see some logic in this?

  • there was this one, but i sure that he has now got normal(ish) wheels.

  • I've wondered about this myself, quick acceleration and tight turning could be a bonus but smaller wheels will never be the best solution in goal. Might be worth looking at DMR frames. Many of them are designed to take 24" or 26" wheels. The APS mount system they did (and which I have on my TrailStar2) means you can run V's with either size or discs.

  • Reverse penny farthing low-pro, giant back wheel for goal keeping and acceleration, small front wheel for attack positioning and quick handling.

  • Might be worth looking at DMR frames. Many of them are designed to take 24" or 26" wheels.

With massive jumpbike tyres, so you'll have inches of pointless extra wheelbase if you run 24" with small slicks.

  • 24" with big jump tyres works out at about the same wheel diameter as a 26" x 1.5".
There was one dmr (think it was called a drone o something) that was near perfect, but I wasn't able to get saddlheight for someone my size

  • you mean a Sillgey? Could do with making one with V-Brake mounts...

  • and there's always Takas bike

  • and there's always Takas bike

    Pearoast:

  • ok, didn't bother checking the link..... my humble apols

  • no man, he rides this:

  • tool, sunglasses and keys in the pocket... well done Taka

  • ^^ lacing pattern on front wheel 2 leading 2 trailing?

Just another pompino. 26'' front end and 700 rear makes it nice and nippy. 32/20.

  • New frame is at the painters, decals and headbadge being applied so should hopefully get built up next week, custom matte black bash guards ordered from Max Power... Probably not gonna be ready in time for Good Friday but here's hoping...
    crosses everything
