  • luca have you painted your bike sky blue?

  • i wish i had painted my bike any colour! its getting rusty and to think ive only owned it a month is crazy!

  • it's winter dude.

I'm sure it'll be fine. It had some lacquer, right?

  • it will by tonight :)

  • did you send your forks down with boagey? just read your email.

  • Want to make something this soo much!

  • That's stunning, lovebikes with a bit of life to them. Ritchey breakaway or something different?

  • +1, where did you find that, Shane?

  • Anyone ridden one? Does the seatpost work holding it together?

    Looks awesome.

  • I'm doing this today... lets see if it works...

  • Awesome, pictures!

Seabass rode one for quite a while.

  • It belongs to guy that just arrived from San Diego, not a brakeaway just something he and a welder knocked together before leaving! They put a thinner tube inside the downtube after cutting it in half;

lined it up and drilled holes for the bolts,

cut slots in the other side to allow for movement

and fabricated this custom coupling plate

Then they added the second seatpost clamp and a poor mans travelling bike was born! Apparently the seatpost just helps line things up and doesn't suffer much more load/force than usual.

It rides like a dream, no creaks, cracks or anything strange so far. We'll see how it holds up with shitty Oslo streets and polo to deal with.

  • I'm tempted to get one of these as a replacement for my pomp.. check out the awesome replaceable dropouts!
I would then also have a sweet touring bike.

  • alternative dropouts

  • A little worried by the mounting bolts, they actually look like chainring bolts.

  • they are. matt vidal lost 4 chain ring bolts in a league game last year and someone spectating had similar drop outs so gave him a couple to finish the game.

  • looks interesting josh, v.similar to pomp

  • Same geo as a Pomp?

  • Why not go for a Pompetamine. According to the guy on the on-one stand at bike show its just a beefed up pomp. or is geo different

  • A little worried by the mounting bolts, they actually look like chainring bolts.

You think a chainring bolt is a bad thing to use?

Dud, does the pompetamine have a gear hanger? To be more precise can you add or remove the gear hanger?

  • Beagle's gone mad...

  • A little worried by the mounting bolts, they actually look like chainring bolts.

That's what holds most replaceable dropout on to frames. I was a little surprised, then you think about the amount of force a chainring bolt has to put up with...

  • they are. matt vidal lost 4 chain ring bolts in a league game last year and someone spectating had similar drop outs so gave him a couple to finish the game.

    all my fault.

  • I remember that. It was one of my proudest moments as I found about 6 of the bits.

  • Those dropouts look like a very happy man.
