Probably for your rear wheel.

^funny guy. Also quick search for 20t freewheels only comes up with the shitty irremovable Dicta ones or the White industries 1milion pounds ones. Any other options?

Go with a smaller chainring then pick up a Shimano BMX freewheel, think they go up to 18t... Even the Shitmanos are £25 now! :$
Also Token freewheels, they're £50... But they're sexy black...

Anyone else about to order from SPA cycles? Want to order together?
I could do. Let me know when you're about to order.

Finally sorted my polo bike, it's taken ages and I got a bit of a bum deal on the frame. I managed to buy a very pre-bruised Bruiser with misleading photos and it's taken a fair bit of time to get it finished.
Planning to upgrade the wheels soon and maybe look at bmx cranks.

- Bruiser frame M
- Cobra b17 fork
- Redneck stem
- BMX risers
- Sugino 157mm cranks
- Homemade dual pull
- Identiti v-brake mounts front
- Booster plate v-brake mount back
- Mismatched Shimano v-brakes
- Non-descript wheelset
It actually exists!? Good work, looking forward to seeing it. Also careful with those cables. My gear shift cable before I trimmed it stuck out like that and lead to a nasty crash

ha!

I knew you'd pick up on that, I'm scared, but I need spokes!
-
• #6609
Ha, fair enough. I'd do the same.
-
• #6610
I need some spokes too snoops, let me know when your ordering, im just going to work out the length i need now.
-
• #6611
I was going to get some spokes from Spa. To get the length I need I'd have to buy 75 though. I also want Sapim strong spokes because I'm a tart and want an excessively strong front wheel.
-
• #6612
There's nothing tarty about wanting strong spokes in polo.
-
• #6613
It'll be practically indestructible though. Especially in comparison to the current wheel is 10/15yrs old with 36 galvanised spokes yet to break one of those spokes.

Question question... is this particular dual lever (www.bikecare.co.uk) (*edit: cheaper at http://www.missioncycles.co.uk ) a long-pull suitable for v-brakes?
*For posterity edit: have been told that this lever pivots internally for an 'even' braking experience eg. on trikes etc... and the quality is gak... hence avoid.
-
• #6616
yes it is. they are 'ok' some people swear by them, others think they are too hard on the pull.
-
• #6617
Thanks. Weighing the options.
-
• #6618
they are pretty cheap, i know will from grenoble (2nd at WHBPC) uses one.
-
• #6620
not the same, that one is short pull, you can get mini v's which take short pull... IIRC?
-
• #6621
You can use a travel agent device for a short pull lever on v's

I must be sounding like a complete idiot, but how do you mean? I am all new to bike building etc etc... :-P

Thanks Sandy. It's not a cheap option that one... :-( Is there any clear advantage with this method, apart from trying to save my back side coz I bought the wrong brake lever?
Push sold me a halo one, I can't remember for what, but it wasn't much
