Awesome news tom.
Spend half the money on some solid wheels! You don't need a porn bike (aka something that will get stolen even faster than your last bike) you've got the lo-pro for that.

Or one of these:
;)
but you'll need to run bmx cranks

So, are you bored of fixie skidder tricks then James? Giving polo a try instead? ;)

g sport cassette thingy ^ can't seem to find any of their front hubs in 48H anymore though.....shame.
James, you're way off mark on that. Much though I love G-Sport (and use one of their front hubs on my polo bike) the ratchets have tiny cogs at the back, trying to get a suitable ratio would involve a tiny cog at the front. Too much torque and an expensive mistake.
Now if you'd said NOS G-Sport homer with 10mm axle (respaced to 120) then I'd have agreed with you.

48 hole chukka rims arrive in brick lane in a couple of weeks
Kev was saying that people in the US who've been testing chukka have been having the same issues that initially arose with H+Son with the upper wall of the rim splitting open like a pitta bread. I'd wait a while before even bothering with them.

Not so much bored, its a combination of things I think, I used to captain a sponsored tournament paintball team, but the time, frequent travelling, is now impossible with the way things are with my work, but....I do miss being part of a team doing something I enjoy.
I've played polo a few times and it is damn good fun :)
I tried to fill the gap left by my bmx with fixed gear tricks, however everything is loads more effort, and i'm hankering for something built for street riding thats like the bmx but a little bigger, so i'm buildin a 24 inch rigid street mtb with a freecoaster for that "mad fakie shit™" that I enjoy so much, seems like the perfect compromise.
Besides, all I have to do to make my bike "polo ready" is sort the gearing, so gonna have a hunt for a bmx 36t chainring which should be put down to 54-55GI which I reckon will be just dandy!

Fairplay I didn't think properly about the gearing side of things actually, those homers were sick bits of kit, 90's bmx rocked!

40's would be better...
What is 32x18? that's what I'm playing on and it could probably be spinner.
-
• #637
yep 42 is good, i play 32x20 and like it a lot.
-
• #638
45GI?
If I whack a 30t on that gives me 45ish, probably a better idea then :)

where can i find a big ol' freewheel? like, 21t? :s
-
• #640
biggest is the 20t dicta ones off ebay, they are cheap but you can't remove them from your hub without taking them apart rendering them unusable.

No chance of getting a smaller chain ring?
-
• #649
maybe. 170 gusset cranks. borrowing dale's 36t tree chainring with a 17t freewheel at the mo.

I havent played polo yet though have stated a month or so ago I wouldnt mind getting involved once I have more control over a bike.
I went the other way, played polo to learn more control over my bike!
And it works, I'm a lot better than before (although as has been said I'm still poloistically chanllenged...)
^thats way to cheap, $100 for a chainring seems much more sensible
