hydraulics don't just lock up, I don't know why people think they are like that. They are the most modulated of brakes, but the hoses would pose problems for polo I think, unless you spent £20/metre on braided hoses.

Someone mentioned they had a 20t free wheel yesterday? Who was that? Beyond that, anyone have a 20, 21, 22t free wheel cog? Adrienne is waiting for a WI to be repaired and is without polo bike in the mean time. So a cog or wheel loaner for a couple of days would be awesomeness.
Also, anyone have a saddle they don't need anymore? My Brooks is really starting to become a problem. Doesn't need to be bling. Just something I can sit on.

Mrak, I have an old Flite Ti, with hideous roadie embroidered logos on it. You can have it for some beers.

Cheers, Gabes. May take you up on that. When you poloing next?
Also, anyone know where I can find a cheap 28t BMX sprocket? Or where I can get my frame shot blasted and clear coated/painted for cheaper than armortex?

Hub gears are awesome.
But how the deuce do you work out the GI?Sheldon tells me the gear percentage, but I'd like to know exactly what gears I have going on.
Shimano Nexus 7-speed hub Gear Ratios
The overall range is 244%, in jumps of:
1st 17.2% 2nd 13.8% 3rd 17.3% 4th 15.8% 5th 16.6% 6th 15.7% 7th -

i love it when a plan comes together.
Especially given that pretty much everyone is already zooming around with enough braking power to lock up one or both wheels at the bat of an eyelid.
Whilst it can be useful for skidding your bike around, once you lock your wheels up, you've actually lost braking force.
