If it had a horizontal toptube it would look alot like Hassan and Gabe's swords. Even like Dales polo bike. Sometimes it actually feels good when something gets 'professionally' done that validates what's been going on all along.

thick tyres = better grip

thick tyres + low pressure = better for rolling over stuff too (mallets, balls, people etc)

the french always have those large tyres
they are really hard to push though long grass and there is no grip off them the french always fall off on tight turns.
they also use a 24 inch wheel to allow the feet not to catch the frount wheel.if you ride a 26 and 3/8 wheel you ride on your toes to allow for wheel not to catch your feet when turning.
use speed way tyres on grass and high presure the bike will role on the grass and turn much easier and to can spin the bike around while peddling.

if you play on your toes with 26inch wheels how do you recommend I play with my 27inchs?! :-)

26 3/8? 27? Measuring wheels in inches? Weirdos
I use 700c wheel and usually 700c x 28 Tire (the 28 is probably a reference to the metric, millimeter).
Polo boy, what's specific about speedway tires that make them better for polo on grass?

am i going mad or does this bike not have any dropouts ?
where do you slot the wheel in ?

You think measuring in inches is weird but you don't even know what your tyre digits mean?!
Your using the french standard, which is basically mm, except it isn't standard, different companies have different ideas of what a 700c tyre is. Originally the letter denoted the width, so having a second number for width is a bit weird isn't it?
Also there isn't a french equivilent to 27inch wheels. So my original question wouldn't have worked so well...
if you play on your toes with 650A wheels how do you recommend I play with my 700B/C?! :-)

HA! Love it!
I do know that I'm using the former french standard in 700 (27 1/2 inch OD of tire), which is equivalent to the ISO standard 622 (ID of tire bead), therefore exchangeable. The industry still commonly uses 700 though, so...
The thing is, when measuring in inches, a 700 (622) rim, the OD actually measures approx. 24 7/8 in.! Inches was the OD measurement of inflated tires on a rim which at one time, like 1880's, was a standard size. As we all know there is now a multitude of tire sizes so measuring in inches is useless.

Still, I want to know about these speedway tires and if they'd be useful on hardcourt!
fuck that is sweet!
BB's a bit on the high side.
