I'm going to make a clamp on... seems pretty simple, and it'll butt up against the back of the top tube

ok, i have been thinking about crank length.
Apart from the obvious reasons of less pedal strike and toe overlap (and maybe faster spinning?), are there any other reasons to have shorter cranks?
it seems to me that have more leverage would be advantageous from standing starts.. -
• #1171
shorter cranks are worse for your knees.

shorter cranks are worse for your knees.
Even with a silly low gear?
-
• #1173
well i live on the top of a hill, so its never easy with short cranks, just on the court would be peasy, its the getting there that shags them.
-
• #1174
I use 155mm cranks Josh, they don't give me any knee trouble and I use my polo bike to get around town. I wouldn't switch to them unless you need to, you do get better leverage with longer cranks.

mine are 152mm but also i have had much less trouble with knee ache since going freewheel.
