Bentaleb really isn't good enough.
Capoue must be hating life under Timbo
-
• #97853
He shinned it, but because it bobbled.
Bentaleb had a great game against Newcastle, but yeah, I'd agree Capoue is a better player on paper.

More perplexed he's not playing Eriksen more tbh. We've got quite a lot of coverage in midfield, but our only real creativity lies with Paulinho and Eriksen.

• #97855
Rose just then, fucking hell. Shame Eriksen was offside, that would have been an amazing goal
-
• #97856
Cock. Meh, just don't let it anymore now.
-
• #97857
Didn't that guy who Liverpool fucked up signing score?
-
• #97858
Yep, scored a pen and was by far their most creative player. Liverpool missed out there.

• #97859

Some Evertonians come from further afield. Woollybacks from St Helens or Birkenhead, Runcorn and Ormskirk travel by bus and car to games. Others claim more distant connection to the city and club and despite being brought up in Swindon and living in north London, derive their scouseness from their great uncle Harold having once been banged up in the special wing of Walton prison. Visiting days were always a treat.
Nice...

Watched the first half, had a works leaving do to show my face at.
We looked nervous at the back, high defensive line and Friedel in goal do not mix. Matheus had a great opportunity to put Dnipro ahead, easy ball over the top, straight in on goal, Friedel who'd stayed at home on the edge of his six yard box, had an easy save after Matheus bottled the finish, but couldn't help but think Lloris would have been onto the through ball in a flash and hoofed it clear...
Chadli looked as dangerous as I've seen him all season, much more proactive and looking to take on players. Rose is feisty. But Dawson and that long diagonal ball, get to fuck.... Townsend didn't seem to do much and Bentaleb looked out of his depth, and was worried about Paulinho dropping back to take the ball off of Capoue, who looked solid again, should really be starting in front of him.
Best midfield right now would be Capoue holding, with dembele and Paulinho in front of him. Bentaleb needs to sit...
Big game against Norwich on sunday, ,but really don't won't Chris Hughton put under more pressure if Norwich take another loss...

Prole, course I want us to win, especially as looking at our fixtures in march, its a murderers row, which will tell us whether fourth is actually a possibility, or if Levy will need to be in the market for a new manager. Seems Cesare Prandelli has spoken about the job.
But Hughton is a good manager (maybe a bit too cautious for my liking) and I don't want to see him out of a job, especially after what happened to him at Newcastle. and it would be sad if a defeat to us put this tottenham stalwart out of a job..
Chelsea v Tottenham
Tottenham v Arsenal
Tottenham v Southampton
Liverpool v Tottenham -

ooo that's a nice fixture list... pleasing although if you can draw against chelsea and arsenal, that'd be just great

Pun,
despite our move into +4 GD, I'm not holding out much hope of getting something from those games, we're a more attacking team, but we're also more open to being breached on the counter, dawson is still slow on the turn, and it's only Lloris' speed off the line that has kept us in a couple of games.
If Kaboom and Vertonghen play we might be more secure, but we need someone apart from Adebayor to score some goals, and we need Sherwood to get over his Bentaleb infatuation. Chelsea have more options going forward, Arsenal we might get a point out of, heavy emphasis on the might, and though Liverpool are having a bit of a stutter, they've proven this season they can score goals and it's only a matter of time before Suarez gets back onto the score sheet.
If we get any more than 4pts, I'd be amazed, and much more confident of us grabbing a CL place..

Pun in the last six games you've only got 1 point more than spurs, and despite the dazzle of beating arsenal 5-1 and everton 4-0, you've drawn 2-2 with villa and 1-1 with west brom, and only just managed to finagle a win at fulham with gerrard's late late late penalty.

Benfica are eyeing up Zakaria Bakkali - whom I'd love to see in the premier league.
