winning trophies over league victories.
Too many fans have got it into their heads that qualifying for the champions league is everything. Winning trophies is better than finishing second/third or fourth in the league, playing in the champions league and exiting at the group stages/ if you're lucky the first knockout round.. -

winning trophies is really important, it's difficult hence all the bullshit excuses people come out with

^^ The club will earn far more money through Champions League qualification than it would by winning a domestic cup. Therefore, it's not just the fans that believe the Champions League is everything. I think you'd have a different view on the subject if you weren't always finishing 5th or 6th in the league...

I'm not wet lipping. I am predicting a Liverpool victory as I think it the most likely outcome.
With regards to the FA cup. Of course it would be nice to win it. But I would rather be in the Champions League next year having Tuesday and Wednesday night football to look forwards to.
Far more exciting. Plus players want to come to a club i nthe CL, not one who won the FA cup last year or 2005 -

Yep, I'm with Mike.
If I had to choose top 3 (and guaranteed CL) or a cup win, I'd take CL.
It's just such a boost for the future, in terms of income, and players available, meaning the cup wins will become much easier.
Luckily it's not either/or, it is possible to do both.

This season it's much more important for us to finish in a CL placing due to the increased revenue and ability to recruit better players etc etc
I don't think a cup run will really affect that tbh as we don't have many other games

Yep.
I wonder what tactics he will use against BR if we get close enough in the league to be a perceived threat. -

Wenger was an idiot to say that Mourinho was afraid of failure. Set himself up to be mugged off...

Question, teams that aren't in the cups, what do they do over cup weekends? More training? Rest days? Kick the cat?
Trying to figure out how sherwood can use the time to Spurs advantage so he can get the team gelling more.. -

Manure are over here in Dubai doing warm weather training. Newcastle came over in January for some friendlies in Abu Dhabi. Weather is great at the moment and they can get some good sessions in and it's relatively cheap for the clubs to do this and the infrastructure is excellent.

Useful for the current weather. Just the prep you need for a wet Saturday in Crystal Palace.
both would be nice though
