  • hate to do this, but been pointed in the direction of this article in the mirror.

    interesting to say the least.

as one commentator writes below the line, everyone was happy with his laidback style when they were winning, now the losses have come up, suddenly its not good enough..

I'd still want him at Spurs...

  • I wouldn't. Classy guy for sure... but not the one to turn us into regular top4 team.

  • SOS having a go at Arsenal for the lack of tickets available for the FA cup

  • it's all been going downhill at swansea since rodgers left

  • I'd still want him at Spurs...

I was waiting for this, lol!

BTW Did you follow my advice? ;)

  • I'd still want him at Spurs...

Imagine if Levy hadn't bottled it, and had picked Rodgers over AVB…

Spurs were Rodgers' first choice, as they were 4th in the league at the time, and didn't require as much (if any) work as Liverpool (dumping Andy Carroll, changing from the King Kenny dire style of play, lower league position). You might have got 4th last season, in Champions League, Bale stayed.

But now Rodgers has managed to get Liverpool up to 4th...

  • lol

  • 606, I like Rodgers, he's the kind of young, tactically progressive coach I'd hope that Spurs are looking at.

Always thought he had his heart set on Liverpool though.
And all isn't roses under his watch, have a word with Multigrooves, about Brendan's and liverpools tactical failings..

  • Like that he still plays Skrtel. And Joe Allen.

  • are we talking about Liverpool AGAIN...

  • it started of a bit spursy but went all liverpool
    as always
    the go to team

  • It's the natural progression as the battle for 4th heats up; Spurs, Liverpool, Everton, ManUre who will have the least stained sheets at the end?

  • Like that he still plays Skrtel. And Joe Allen.

both played in the 0-5 tonking of spurs

    Just saying

Doesn't make them good though does it?

I'm a Liverpool fan & every time there's a corner or free kick heading towards our box I get worried because Skrtel is ALWAYS pulling/holding someone, more than any other defender I've seen. He'll get pulled up on it eventually & you know it'll be when we really need the win & the penalty scored will make the difference.

I'll have to believe you on Allen, he has an uncanny trick of becoming invisible once he steps over that white line...

So many defenders do that, it's just the media have picked up on it with Skrtel specifically... he's better than Toure so who else would you put in on the right hand side of the centre backs?

Allen can keep the ball well and adds more stability to the midfield... we can definitely improve on him and he's been really unlucky with injuries so far.

I like BR, he's turned things around nicely but does need to sure up the defence. I thought Sahko was coming back a while ago. He's definitely learning on the job though which is to be expected he's a young manager.

  • Yes he is better than Toure, but again that isn't saying much. I don't know who I'd put there instead, really we need someone new. I really like Flanigan but he's too young to play there at the moment & it would waste his speed.

I do like BR too though, most of what he's done has been good - just made a few errors & has missed a couple of signings that I think he needed. Not bad really.

  • Has anyone read Soccernomics? wondering whether it's worth picking up.

  • I have it somewhere. Is that the Kuper book?

I think BR is doing a great job. We have the second highest goals for in the league. We have put four or more past God knows how many teams this season. He just needs to work on the defence. It's difficult though with Agger being half-crocked and Sakho being out.

  • and illori being sent out on loan doh !

  • Yeah, they are games are great to watch. I'd rather win 20 games a season by 4 goals, then win a title with 1-0 victories (ideally both winning games and titles of course)

  • well nearly
it's good to watch good football
maybe 1 yr of 1-0's so we can get stevie g his premiershit medal then back to good football

  • I have it somewhere. Is that the Kuper book?

Yeah - is it any good? It's only 6 quid so maybe I'll just get it anyway.

  • Also read this and thought of this thread.

  • Hold on, I thought Walcott was shit then Chalfie posted some analysis saying he's great so I thought 'he's great', now you're telling me he's shit again?
