I'd like to make a move for Michu or try to bring Hernandez in on loan.
Even moyes isn't that stupid to loan a striker to you

think he probably feels pretty happy bout it, giving it back to those neolithic coin throwing orcs who cant take some gentle teasing. Not that those said neolithic plastics would be as lacking in class as to celebrate someone getting badly injured or anything...
typical from the little club with a cock and ball for its badge
they were throwing before he mocked them

£30 ticket + train fare for a game that's on the telly. Not likely.
How long have you had your season ticket for again?
^ Sums up a lot of the modern problem with football... shameful lack of fans there.
this year... but I still went to games before that.. even the ones on tele.

He wouldn't have done fuck all any way.
Just means that Milner will get more playing time now
shudder
lets face it none of them are going to do anything in the WC. its a big blow to Arsenal, will Wenger spend???

Off to watch us play Southampton on Saturday; managed to snag hospitality...
Not sure we'll get anything out of the game but it should be open and exciting.

I was thinking about this and I know it won't happen but in my head it makes sense (yes, maybe I need it checking)
It would be a 6 month loan - United are out of the FA cup, we are out of the Coca-Cola cup. Both still in Europe, realistically we are not competing with one another in the league.
Hernandez wants first team football but United don't want to sell him now (likely worth more in Summer/more available replacements) he would definitely get game time and goals for Arsenal in the EPL and they could afford to pay the whole of his salary.
So to me it makes sense, for both teams.

He should. His usual litmus test if "is this player better than one I have" and when you're relying on Bendtner as your second striker, then in most cases the answer to that question will be "hell, yeah".

He says there are no options.
But if we offered 10 million for Remy plus Miyachi/Frimpong on loan, Redknapp would do it.
There are options out there. People say we need a world class striker but I say we just need another striker. We can think about world class in the summer, for now we need someone who will get 10 goals - the same as Larsson did for United a few years back.

Oi, get your own catchphrase.
I honestly think Arsenal are a better team without Walcott in the starting 11 (coming from a Spurs 'fan') - though I can see that he's useful sub when the game is stretched, he's pretty much the only player you have with any real pace apart from Gibbs.

Arsenal, Chelsea and to an extent Man Utd missed the boat last summer.
For Arsenal it's nothing new, for Chelsea and Utd it's a harsh lesson. Remy is hardly a solution. Chelsea won't loan Ba to a title rival and City won't sell Dzeko. So that leaves very little options with PL experience. Michu would an amazing addition for any PL team but Swansea won't let him go cheap. -

But I didn't see much else going this summer that would've been viable for us.
I don't think many of the much promised striker signings have paid off - Bony, Remy and Negredo aside.
Would Villa sell Benteke now? looks pretty out of sorts, should still realise a good 20m for him which would help strengthen elsewhere.
Remy would be a solution of sorts and one that is available this winter. I think Michu would be available for around 15m.

For me it's also because I work quite hard and I don't really like the idea that any of my meagre income will go towards the wages of someone like, say... Adebayor. Or paying off yet ANOTHER manager Levy has fired.

Walcott is a big loss. His pace is scary and his finishing, much to my surprise, is good. Even if he is not the greatest decision maker, coming off the bench his pace and finishing will force teams who look comfortable in defence to change what they are doing. Especially if the have a high line.
He may not be the greatest but tactically he gives england an option, which is something they are really short of.
