Good opposition scout, good at writing reports, good at the theory and talks a good game is my bet.
He's only 36 so maybe he will learn and become a good manager. High profile failures hurt tho.

Hard to see who could replace him who would improve the situation... But if he's lost the dressing room (and the rest of the club too) then it's difficult to see him recovering from this.

It's fucking madness sacking AVB now. Who's going to come in?
Otto Rehhagel??Suppose so, if you back him with 110m in the summer you should give him time to save it. And as you and Dan say, who the fuck is gonna come in? Pulis is off the market.

Would be good if it's Hoddle next - assuming he's still a bit David Icke.

Otto Rehhagel??This ^.
Levy needs to show some balls. If he fires AVB then the players know that if they don't like the next coach, then can get rid of him too and before you know it, Spurs will be like Chelsea (but without the success).
Levy made the appointment, he needs to be seen to be backing AVB and show the players that they need to work with the manager, not against him.

I really wish they had spent half what they did in the summer and kept the other half to plug whatever gaps were visible in the squad in January or next summer.

Not sure how much of the AVB brouhaha is real or media generated. We had a heavy defeat to a team that is going to be challenging for the title, the players didn't play well, and now supposedly their feelings are hurt, because AVB said it was their fault.
As I've mentioned previously, not sure whether media witch hunt is too strong a term, but despite the relative success last season, as soon as there is a dip in form, or the performances are a bit flat, AVB is under threat. We haven't even got to the meat of the season and all the stories of dressing room dissent, and board room disapproval come down the pipe. Looks like 'Arry still has fans in the press corp, who are willing to go to bat..
David Hytner's article is pretty much a reversion of the *spit*daily failspit article, so not sure if he's using the same sources, or just copying and pasting. It does stink of write good of them when they are doing well, put the boot in as soon as things go a bit skewiff..
AVB was Levy's choice he's got to man up, and back him. Long term we need stability, and you won't get it by bowing to media opinion.

Mirallas isn't even looking at the ball. Good work.
Nothing wrong with that tackle. You'd get worse in the Sunday pub leagues.

Newmanager syndrome has been discussed statistically. I think it's nothing more than a bounce before going back to normal.
Reversion to the mean?

Liverpool are at spurs in two weekends time... perfect bounce backability time
The whole thing is too muddled at the moment - the front 5 players are treading on each others toes
