The old fella's being brought in? that could make a neville neville neville neville managerial team.
I believe Neville Neville senior still has some Rolf Harris-esque charges to face.

The grass is quite clearly Lampard, still upset over his mate JT, and he's an ex-public schoolboy too.
And doesn't the England central defence look a lot better without Rio and Terry.

Yes…which brings me onto Smalling.
As a kid I had something missing as a footballer. I had enough athletic ability, more than enough will to win and understood the game and my part in the team. I played either CB, CDM or upfront (never scored). I played upfront because I would kick shit out of their CBs. What was missing was that composure, confidence and quick reactions to a situation that you need in football. In other words, if you passed me the ball I would shit the bed.
Anyway, my point, something in Smalling reminds me of me. He just never looks comfortable or confident and I’m sure I can see the fear in his eyes as the ball comes towards him.

tl;dr, I'm beating Smalling with the same shitty stick I beat myself with.

It'll be ok when Glen Johnson is fit again...

Daniel Harris @ The Guardian doesn't seem to think so....
'How England's team for their first World Cup group game should look'
http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2013/oct/16/england-team-world-cup-first-game
What a helmet...he's chosen to omit the entire defence, the one that got us through in the first place and go for two well shit Utd 'defenders' who can't even get in the Utd first team!?
Oh....'Harris is a Utd journo' you say? He's shoehorned 5 of the cunts in there!!
It comes as no surprise then that he's also got a book to promote - 'The Promised Land - Mancheser Utd's historic treble'I thought The Guardian were better than that

I saw that article with a Smalling/Jones CB pairing. A brainless, frustrated midfielder and a nice fella who doesn't want to be there. A lot about those 2 players will have to change in a short time for them to be a good option to start. I'd rather have Terry/Rio.
A friend of mine works for Puma and deals with a lot of footballers. When I saw him last he told me Phil Jones is the single thickest man he has ever met.

England are a far more likeable team without those arrogant twats in the setup.
All we need is to give Cole and Lampard the boot and we may become half decent -

Unfortunately, Cole is too good to get rid of. Lampard>>>>>>>>>>>>>
We have too many promising MFs for him to go.

Without trying to be too biased I disagree. Cole is and was an outstanding LB but his time has come, along with Gerrard, Lampard, Terry and Ferdinand
Baines offers so much more than Cole. The recent games he has played he hasn't really settled into the role but thought he had his best England game to date against the pissed up builders -
• #90893
You may be (are probably) right, but Cole should go in the squad. What is Bains got injured, of he moved into mf due to an injury, got home sick?
-
• #90894
He should defo take him but on the bench
-
• #90895
Good on 2 parts, a quality LB in reserve and seeing a cunt being taken down a peg or 2.

this one's for mikec, don't get too high, or too low in the football season
http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/oct/18/lucas-leiva-liverpool-interview-brazil
Liverpool have had their best start to the season since 2008-09 and take on Newcastle second in the table, level on points with Arsenal. Lucas is encouraged but not carried away. "Look, we have obviously got some encouraging results from the first games and no one will complain about being top of the table. But we would be silly to get too excited after seven games.

I can't see myself playing for another team than Liverpool
Translated as "My agent tried shopping me around but no-one would take me".
beat me to it !
