Also can one of the Derby fans tell me if Will Hughes is still progressing? Will he leave this season?

I know we let him go, but Roy Hodgson should think about giving Huddlestone a turn in midfield. If you want a metronome in the center of the park to keep the ball moving accurately, long or short Tom's your man..

Feel a bit let down by all this talk about defoe and now england. Its another awful international break. There is nothing to talk about people. You know what you should be doing

Will has been in and out of some matches this season, but this is probably due to being played out of position and not having the freedom to attack as much as he'd like to.
However, since he's had Eustace playing as defensive midfielder behind him and Craig Bryson, the two of them are controlling our midfield well.
Will has the ability to change games and doesn't seem to care whether the people playing around him are playing well. With Schteve in charge now, I'd like to think he'd stay for the rest of this season as we could easily build our team around him instead of just putting him in the shop window.
He has also started to add goals to his game. He scored a lovely individual goal against Leeds this weekend, gliding past the defender and then scoring with his (weaker) right foot.

corndog isn't gonna be happy
Liverpool Under-21s crushed their Tottenham counterparts 5-0, with Brad Smith scoring a long-range stunner during the rout.

Does that mean Brad Smith is better than Defoe?
-
• #90283
i'm currently working on an equation that will make that calculation possible
please bear with ... bear with ... bear with ....Computer says YES

• #90284
Is that because he is less streaky than Defoe?

doesn't need to be that mobile if he's patrolling that area in front of the back four, and being the outlet for the defense, you're not asking him to spring down the wings or burst into the box, but hold and control the tempo of the game, and make sure we keep possession. Pirlo's not blessed with great pace but no one holds that against him (not making out that huddlestone is currently in Pirlo class, but he has similar attributes, whilst being twice the size)

spring down the wings or burst into the box
Good job really, when we had him we called him one pace, Didn't matter if he was sprinting through the middle, walking with the ball or jogging back into position. All activities were completed at the same pace.

If this descends into a confused 4 page dissection of Tom Huddleston with badly sourced stats twisted to prove points barely distinguishable from anyones elses then I'm flouncing.

Not really...i'm off to look up his pass completion %.
Well my current choice would be 1 or 2 of Delph/Carrick/Shelvey. I'd hope to see Ward-Prowse get more game time as he has a lovely controlling influence at times.
Gareth Barry is a dull player but one who can play this role.
It's in the attacking quartet/quintet that you would start to have fun.
