Pleased that AVB was playing defoe, his form meant he deserved the chance to lead the line in the league and to a certain extent no one's place is guaranteed.

Derby do not need a fire under them, otherwise we would have brought in some big gob manager to destroy things. We have a good squad with real potential, what we needed was someone with the willingness to admit that the starting lineup or formation was wrong and needs changing mid game. Nigel has the stubborness of his father but lacks the tactical nouse.
