No one gives a toss about England because we have been shit for years...
I gave up on them years ago, maybe that world cup when I disgraced myself at Pisti's local... And I was heckling all the way through that IIRC...
fuck, that was a great piss-up. sadly it ultimately meant pisti had to move north

^ I think that the antipathy to international football seems to be a uniquely English thing.
Not sure there is all that much antipathy, seems to me like every cunt becomes a football expert whenever the world/euro cup finals are going on. More regular football supporters invest a lot of time money and copies of the Guardian into following their chosen side and get a bit "fuck you, I was here first" about it when all these eng-er-land pillocks start handing out the benefit of their wisdom.
Personally I find it hard to get excited about the turgid football the England team play and it doesn't help much having that fucking shit band killing the atmosphere with yet another droning rendition of the great escape.

Greg Dyke is a former DG of the BBC. Anthony Fry, the new chair of the Premier League is a member of the BBC Trust and head of the finance committee.
Curious.
Fry went to the same school, Stonyhurst College, as the former BBC D-G, Mark Thompson although he was three years Thompson's senior.

That's your school you lizard handshaking something or other

Thompson was a classmate for around seven years. Fry never showed any interest in any sport let alone football. He, like Thompson, was musically gifted.

My old boss went there. He was a complete cunt and had numerous unresolved childhood issues. Probably on account of attending a Jesuit boarding school. In the middle of no-where.

If the Beeb connection worries you so much, dig out your tin foil hat. Fry is a trustee of English National Opera and the current BBC DG, Tony Hall, went to the Beeb from the Royal Opera House.

FFS This has been done before!
The UK has one of the lowest number of coaches per head. We're dwarfed by the Spanish & Germans. Doesn't help that getting FA sanctioned badges are soo stupidly expensive. Obvs if prem teams keep taking on as many forins then there'll be less to pick from moving forward. But also pay youth coachs good monies and you'll be on your way.

I imagine pisti's pukin' at this.
:3This is another reason I hate madrid: Given the choice of Ronaldinho and Bex they chose the more 'marketable' one. What joy when he turned them inside out for his hat trick forcing madridlenos to stand and applaud his genius at the beranbao. I forget the digusting quote form their heirachy about Ronnie's looks but it was poor.
It's the same reason they dropped Ozil. I've only just gotten my head around his stats. Words fail...Scum...sub human scum. -

Just got excited.
looks like he can play a killer ball to the right corner flag
Perhaps because the majority of those players have played at least 2 full seasons in their domestic leagues and therefore tend to understand how competitive football is?
See above - give players the chance to play first team football in a competitive league and more players will come through as a result. Spanish teams bleed their youngsters in the lower leagues and their national team and club teams seem to be doing alright, regardless of the number of foreigns in their teams.
Clubs are struggling by the bucket load and going into administration at a regular rate so why not get the moneybags involved under strict guidelines and football as a whole will benefit from it.
