  • And Arsenal.
Every club in the land you have £154million in cash to spend on players and then you go and offer £10million plus a pound here a few million **plus a pound ** there. Put your hands in your pockets and offer a club the full value of their players you bunch of tight wads.

    ftfy

  • The Cabaye bid doesn't make sense to me.
Why indicate to possible competitors you are in for a player, with a bid that will never be accepted. It's just fucking stupid and don't put the bid in 4 hours before their first game of the season.

He has 3 years left on his contract, so its not like he can sulk his way to being sold.

  • Interesting bit on the new spurs v palace:

    http://www.eplindex.com/37392/crystal-palace-01-tottenham-hotspur-tactical-analysis.html

    Capoue the new beast..

"As the anchor man initiating attacks from deep. Capoue was extremely effective and in fact; made more interceptions in his 33 minute appearance (6), than West Brom (5), West Ham (5) and Sunderland (4) made as a team in their entire matches."

  • Because that is now the Arsenal way of doing business.
Bullying lesser clubs into selling their top players below market value.

Best thing is that PSG have come in with a £15m bid already.

  • Good article on all that is wrong at Arsenal with some canny insight into what's going on at the club by Terry Murphy.

  • I liked the £40,000,001 bid. It made me laugh.

I'm afraid not. Utter hatchet job. Trolling to get the comments section buzzing. Pretty piss poor bit of journalism in my opinion.

Yup - this is what I was getting at. Fucking silly bollocks goings on

  • nope, even allowing for your now podgy hands, wagon wheels are smaller

Fuck! They must have been massive!

  • He took pride in producing people, not merely players. His best boys, such as David Rocastle and Martin Keown, matured into measured, intelligent men.

I think it sums it up quite nicely.

    1. English parents are only interested in how much money they can make out of their kids.
    2. English kids don't approach the game as professional as their European counterparts.
    3. Cliques in the U18's
    4. Absent owner who's priority is not Arsenal
    5. Highlighting the character flaws of one of their main transfer target

Not sure how this is a complete hatchet job, to me it states the obvious.

  • I don't see that as a hatchet job - it is trying to diagnose a problem by looking at it from an organisational level. Some points you might quibble with but organisations fall apart from the bottom up - rarely from the top down.

  • I think it's somewhere between the two. Bit thin on information and heavy on rhetoric - but an interesting insight into the youth system there.

  • Bit thin on information and heavy on rhetoric

    yup.

  • I liked the £40,000,001 bid. It made me laugh.

Yes but it didn't make the Liverpool board or Arsenal fans laugh now that it has been blown out the water.

    Bloody morons

  • was impressed with citeh too last night having caught the second half with clintsmoker after a tough hour of 5-a-side.

for their new signings it was silva, toure and dzeko that really looked the business.

    season on

  • A hatchet job on the much vaunted Arsenal youth system? Hardly.

How many first team players has it produced since Ashley Cole? One?

Factor in the ever increasingly ridiculous transfer 'business' and it's no wonder everyone is enjoying the comedy.

I'm expecting Brian Rix to appear any moment, trousers around his ankles.

  • I'm afraid not. Utter hatchet job. Trolling to get the comments section buzzing. Pretty piss poor bit of journalism in my opinion.

Joe...its not a great bit of journalism but its hardly a hatchet job.

Is tenderloin the final remaining optimist in the Emirates?

  • That'll more likely be Graham Rix.

  • I'm really really gutted about Willian. I really wanted to see a front line of him, coutinho, Sturridge and Suarez. The excitement of seeing them had my mouth watering. For me this brings FSG into sharp focus now with a net spend of sub £5M.

The only good thing about this is that it signals a changing of the guard; if AVB fails to get 3rd, then he really doesn't have a clue. Becuase I hear Contrearo is also on his way with £93M. That's right folks: NINTY THREE MILLION QUID.

This has to be the best transfer window business EVER.

  • in ever ever

  • Yeah, Willian looks more and more likely to sign for us, although Zenit are now apparently in for him as well. Erik Lamela also still heavily linked.

    Guess we're selling Bale then.
