  • Aye! Shit sinks and all that. Let's hope he doesn't float back up

  • So the authority of a pundit is based upon his connection to Old Trafford?

Clive - you neglected the remainder of the quote

Robbie Savage, good enough in his youth to earn an apprenticeship at Old Trafford, advances the view that the capture of Rooney would guarantee the championship for Chelsea. Gary Neville, a player of greater authority than Savage, believes United cannot afford to let Rooney go. Since they cannot be basing their claims on the player Ferguson no longer considered first choice, they must believe in reincarnation.

The journo clearly thinks they're both wrong. The value of a pundit should always lie in the quality of their punditry. Ergo Robbie Savage is worthless.

It seems that Pellegrini has never really won anything of note. That can;t be right can it?

  • Finish reading Mike - Ecuadorian and Argentinian League titles.

  • @ pun That last sentence is crazy.

I know what you mean but 7 years now.. so it's quite a fair whack

  • My goodness me.

surprised you didn't add Aquaman to that, makes it even worse

  • ^^^ You've read the same piece of crap journo nonsense then. I think it was in the Daily Star wasn't it?

He's nothing like Gerrard as a player or a person thankfully. He won't ping a pass from one end of the pitch and hope Johnson will be quick enough to catch the ball before it goes out of play. He actually plays an intelligent pass and has shown he can roll through defences with the ball stuck to his foot.

The loan thing is the latest craze for prem clubs buying young championship players. £7m is way below what the club knows we can get for him. If he got his name on the score sheet more his tabloid value would be sky high, but he's not that sort of player.

Since I've not actually had an answer (snide comments aside) about what type of player he is I can't really answer what role there' looking to replace, given SG has played pretty much everywhere for us

I read it in the transfer spec in the echo's site which linked from somewhere else (mirror maybe)

  • Finish reading Mike - Ecuadorian and Argentinian League titles.

    so as mike said .....nothing

  • For the Derby rabble; is Will Hughes any good, LFC have been linked with him... worth 7mil?

Centre midfield playmaker, gets the forwards through with balls on the ground (to feet or to a sensible space to run on to), brings the wingers into play and makes darting runs into the box himself.

Plus he has great hair but reacts badly to direct sunlight.

  • thank you.. yeah he did look distinctly strawberry blonde

  • Plus he has great hair

Getting more and more important in this day and age.

Well they had to give Moyes a chance didn't they?

  • so as mike said .....nothing

    Yep nothing of note

  • I thought my comments were quite constructive. Especially about the lack of hollywood passing and his movement into the box.

  • too flowery for CP, he needs more basic info due to a fundamental lack of understanding of the game.*

*as evidenced by his choice of team

  • And before you start Torres has made 82 League appearances and scored 15 goals and a total of 131 appearances scoring 34 goals and, if speculation is correct, he would still make at leat £25 million on the transfer market which equates to a loss of £25 million.

    After amortisation much less, surely?

  • Downing to West Ham.

Move of the season. No hope for Liverpool now.

Trolling aside, the acquisition of Caroll and Downing from Liverpool at reasonable cost may well prove to be deal(s) of the season. Certainly, should the Brendalution result in more cries of "next year" - and I am struggling to see beyond that at the moment - and West Ham continue their good work, then I think this may be the case.

  • I reckon WHU will finish in the bottom half of the table next season. Norwich and Southampton to finish higher than last year is my guess.

so he can dribble and doesn'ty attempt long passes is your idea of a summary of a player

christ man that's up there with Pisti's "he'll be the next efc/england captain" referencing a kicker of a player

Probably one of his best games for us last season. Ignore the fluffstep-house soundtrack and skip through the million replays of the assists. You can get a general idea about what his game is about.

One touch passes. Plays with his head up. Dribbles with the ball stuck to his feet. Slices through the defence with weighted through balls. Also a great tackle at 2.17 in the video. Not many people think a scrawny little albino teenager would be brave or strong enough to tackle like he does.

  • but look at his hair

  • You jelly?

  • Sad to report that Moyes has won more silverwear after one game in charge of ManU than Wenger has won in eight years.

  • He's also won more at United than Mourinho has since his return to Chelsea.

  • so as mike said .....nothing

    Yep nothing of note

Gentlemen. Don't perpetuate the blinkered LFC fan stereotype. It's unbecoming.
