Nothing official yet and yes Eriksen to BVB seems to be about as done and dusted as it gets.
Fabregas is having talks with Barcelona before he flies off to the confederations cup. He's seeking assurances that he'll get more game time, which he surely will as Xavi is getting on a bit. Problem for Fabregas is that he just isn't that good, and the way Barcelona play you have to be incredibly disciplined, which we all know he just isn't.

If Roman's decides to hand out £8.5m for 4 years in a 5 minute conversation than surely he can give me a million as well?

corndog - providing rumours are true and Real Madrid offer £80m for Bale, do you think Levy will accept and who would come in to replace him? I honestly think that Spurs with 3 £20m players would be a better team for it.

was out with his son on Friday - I asked him if he'd sell, for 80m.
He said yes.
Like father, like son. :)

Jaw I refer you to my previous answer to Tenderloin's question
https://www.lfgss.com/post3634087-83285.html
We need a striker, probably two. Most will be an upgrade over what Adebayor (who I like) has done for us most of this season. We need another midfielder preferably creative, preferably young. Another winger to legitimately challenge Bale if he's still with us (which I think he will be) or provide cover for Lennon when he has another injury.
We'll also be giving some run to the younger players, Townsend, Rose, Naughton, whilst trimming the wage bill. Bentley, Jenas, Adebayor, Parker (rumoured to be going to Fiorentina), Livermore, Assou-Ekotto (don't really want him to go, and he wants to stay), Gallas out of contract.
So probably four players in, six out.
We're linked to lots of players and as much as I'd like to say I know all of them, heard of them, and really think they'll do well for us. I'm as much in the dark and reading the rumour mill like everyone else. Lots of teams retooling, and we have to buy in, because everyone above us is getting better so we have to as well.
I'd love us to get Eriksen, Gaitan, Higuain, maybe Gameiro, Di Maria, Douglas Costa, supposedly one of our targets is Dzagoev, who after our Rebrov experience not sure tottenham fans could handle.. Finally bring in Damiao, Soldado would be cool as well..
As I said before, just want it over and done with and the players to be around early doors...

Speaking of Rebrov (though he's Ukrainian) and Dzagoev, has there ever been a Russian who's been an unqualified success in the Premier League?
I can only think of Zherkov, Pavlyuchenko, and Arshavin, as well as Dimitri Kharine, who was probably the most consistent of the lot.
-
• #82793
I doubt anyone would describe Arshavin as successful in anyway. If you extend it to Ukrainians I always though Oleg Luzhny did alright.
-
• #82794
Kanchelskis was technically Russian when he first played for united.
-
• #82795
Abramovich
-
• #82796
To answer your question. No.
None of those players would be described as a success by their teams supporters.
-
• #82797
jaw - fast, but not fast enough.
I'd forgotten Kanchelskis was Russian, he was pretty good actually.
-
• #82798
All very interesting, but is there any news on the Johnny Russell deal yet?
-
• #82799
Who?

What do you mean who, I suppose you had never heard of Connor Sammon before we signed him either?
Van Ginkel is seriously good btw - he's a bit of a risk in my book, mainly due to lack of experience at a higher level than the Dutch league. I rate both Christian Eriksen and Adam Maher higher than van Ginkel. With Roman's links to Vitesse they'll probably sign van Ginkel and loan him out to either a German team or WBA/Swansea to get some more experience.
