Laudrup recently signed a contract extension which contained a £10,000,000 (£3,000,000 to him) buy-out clause. He wants to go back to Spain at some point. I doubt he'd want to go to Everton.
Just get Martinez and someone to sort out the defence for him, which Souza did it for Swansea when El Cunto fucked off.

• #80756
Yeah....so shit that he's gone to the biggest club in the world
Weapon
I'm serious, I think he'll get found out.
It's alright doing "a job" at Everton. (and he's done well, but he's been fortunate he's been able to play the "hamstrung by finances" card at times when the wheels fall off at times).
You've doubted his tactical acumen and his comprehension of the game.

Villa's Petrov has announced his retirement.

So andy.w - who would the Utd fans rather have? Doesn't SAF's judgement count for anything? Just curious if there are names rather than a desired list of qualities.

I really don't know. I've never been impressed with Moyes. I wish him well.
I think nobody will get a fair crack at the whip whilst SAF is still walking the corridors, or he could be the best mentor ever. Hard to tell. Also, Moyes doesn't have a nickname ending in either face or nose. His cards are already marked.
SAF will be back in by Christmas, just like Scholes.

I think they (the United board) have let system 1 thinking take over from system 2 thinking.

Point taken.

Considering they've offered Moyes a 5 year deal you'd think they're going for the long term, again and are convinced of his credentials.
Moyes has got a decent track record bedding in youth players. He's made individual players and teams play above their capabilities. The technical staff (Phelan and Meulensteen) are excellent guardians of the culture that SAF has created at the club, I reckon it'll be the case of what we've seen at Swansea where it doesn't really matter who the manager is. -
