good game today from the gunners, we look like weve got a solid team here with a top quality defence marshalled by Steve Bould and a bunch of players who have serious potential going forward. If Van Persie had stayed I would have put us up there for a shot at the title in all honesty but with him gone it will be the same 3rd or 4th. Seeing him playing for united today was genuinely painful. Fucking united
There were big positives from the game. The defence is starting to look solid, tho there are still problems that need sorting. Passing was sharper than it has been recently but we are still giving the ball away too cheaply and in dangerous places. I like Giroud's presence and positional sense and I'm sure the goals will come.
I don't have particularly high hopes this year and Liverpool were not a measure of the team, they are toothless (they barely have a plan A let alone a plan B) CL place should still be our target.
And Suarez is still a cunt.

"I don't have to speak to anybody. The players have to come to the manager when they behave like this. I didn't leave the ground, kick the bottle or leave my team-mates."
No, you just did this:
And this:
Get to fuck

This we still know.

Whilst I don't agree with his political view, Paul Alcock went over like and old lady on ice.

I'll stop banging on about it when people stop finding him funny and tell him he's not welcome in football

John Terry is still in football.

So is Suarez.

This could be interesting:

That *documentry will be the worst possible thing right for LFC. They never make you good. Given that we ARE NOT GOOD I'll be strapping my seat belt. -

John Terry is still in football.
So is Suarez.
True but they're pretty much universally hated outside of their clubs now.
Di Canio still has some sort of 'hur hur fucking legend' appeal among the general public, and a column on the BBC website.
He needs sending to a North Korean work camp for a political reeducation.

I thought he was a great player, but his on-pitch achievements are greatly marred by his political opinion.
-
• #65314
None of that would matter though, if they scored goals.
Well, I completely agree with you there, Fowler and Owen showed it's possible for an 18 year old to be a top striker.
Big difference. Everyone knew whom they were before they arrived. Not sure any of our youngsters are that hotly tipped. Also it'd be hugely unfair to heap that kind of pressure on young shoulders to make up for the fact that our [strike] latest [/strike] saviours have do not solid plan. They've left the manager out to dry.

Stat of the day:
"Everton's Leighton Baines has created fourteen chances already - and over 100 more than any other Premier League defender in the last eight years"
Baines 310
Ashley Cole 197
Evra 191
Shorey 186Er where the fuck is downing on that list??

that I'd be comfortable with him being 'banned' from football due to his political views - but I'm more than happy to have people bring it up and slate him at every opportunity.
This. I might not like his political views, but they in no way should stop him from being able to hold his job.
If it was shown he had disadvantaged players because of their race, or something similar, then absolutely, but banning purely because of his beliefs would sound rather like fascism.

I don't actually think he should be sent to a North Korean work camp either.
It would be nice if he was hounded out and made to feel unwelcome though. But aside from the union who withdrew their sponsorship of Swindon, it's been more proof that winning means more to football fans than ethics.

By allowing us to sign his striker and not filling his place. The Septics didn't guarantee that they'd fund a replacement. He understood that the funds would be made available, but had no confirmation of it.
Therefore he hung himself out to dry.
He does have have the option of having Carroll back in January though.

^^A great example of the opposite was Union Berlin three years ago, when it turned out the head of the company sponsoring them had held a high-up position in the Stasi. The fans protested, the club gave the sponsorship money back, and the club played with the logos covered up until they found a new sponsor.

Why ? Because his political beliefs are somewhat at odds with The Guardian ?
He's entitled to his (fucked-up) views.

I have it on good authority he was fucked over by whoever deals with transfers at Anfield. He was given the impression they would definitely be getting 2 of 3 from: -
