It is pretty funny you're right - but I'm sure you have a much better insight into why RDM has made these signings and how they have performed over the past few seasons?

Azpilicueta is ok going forward, but defensively he's no better than any of the previous incumbents of that position, he lacks positional awareness and as good in the tackle as Ferreira... both seem un-necessary, considering Chelsea are eventually supposed to be balancing the books starting this year.

We weren't happy to be paying his princely wages and a loan fee on top. Liverpool aren't afraid to shake the cash stick at players, so they will sign him. He is a cracking player.In a midfield with Lucas and Allen it could work nicely, if Liverpool had any creative vision trequartistas or talented wide men.

We needed a right back to replace Boswinga. Ferreira is cover but not a first choice. Ivanovich is more of a utility defender. Cesar is not there to replicate Ashley Cole on the right but to be used in the right games and to develop. He is young.
We don't have a left sided winger. Bertrand has been covering therebut is more of a full back. Moses brings an option on the left.
I'm happy with both of them and see clearly what they will do.
There is talk of another signing.
Can't see Arsenal buying anyone else. I suspect that they have so much strength across the park that there is no need.

They all have a part to play in Rodger's brand of Total (shite) football.
Having said that I reckon they'll get at least a draw on sunday, with plenty of assistance from the ref natch.
