Up in the cheap seats at wembley with a very loud Senegalese supporting section behind me, good thing they are two nil up, despite having a player take a straight red for a cynical trip on Suarez, who has been booed mercilessly for every touch of the ball...
Ps it seems I get the pleasure of Team GB play the UAE, as the second part of this double header...

Got to say after a shaky start, Team BG got a cheeky goal through giggs and are now playing quite nice football, though to be truthful most of the good stuff is coming from the welsh components of the team giggs, Bellamy, Ramsay and Allen.

I've got a spare ticket for the olympic football this afternoon at 5pm at wembley stadium. Senegal v Uruguay.
If you don't mind sitting with me and paying £25 for the pleasure its yours.Wish I'd read this much earlier.

Are we losing yet?
-
• #63231
No. They took Giggs off and now we are winning.
Have to say, I'm watching the boxing. Football is not an Olympic sport.

I'd get a straight red for a cynical fist to the teeth if I was on the same pitch as that rat faced twerp.

Jesus it looks like a British football team has won a game. We'll go onto win tis if we aren't careful.
I have a new favourite sport now, womens beach volleyball. Does it need it's own thread? -
• #63234
Absolutely. Only so that Pisti can tell us what he'd do to the Brazilians.

Most of the sensible Arsenal fans who post stuff don't contribute very often.
Bill and Greasy being the stand out pair.Mostly it is me & Dicki spouting shite and Chelsea fans being classless
just catching up.. I'm sure someone's already fixed this, but just in case

Hah, Adam takes out Bale again...
0-0 draw for Liverpool and Tottenham.
just because adam is slow and ponderous... he was probably just late to the tackle.... AGAIN

hoping he gets used as a makeweight in a deal for dempsey..
Aquilani has gone which will allow us to get Allen at a vastly inflated price
BR has said Carroll can fit into his system and he's happy to stay.. not sure if that is an arm around the shoulder or advertising

Gareth is a very good player. He needs protection.
Players shouldn't hate him. They should appreciate playing against a player like him. They can actually learn from him rather kick him.
It's simple. He is jealous, as Gareth is such a good player. -

bale was already injured before the game, as he wasn't able to turn out for Team GBR
i'm suprised AVB took a risk with him -

+1 to all that.
What is it with Aquilani that he has not even been given a chance by any of our managers. The whole situation is a bit odd.
I think Carroll will stay and come good -

maybe he's shite mike ?
just a thought -

Aquilani gone?!
He was the kind of ball playing midfielder you were crying out for.
Wembley and the olympic football was good, lots of kids, squealing women and some nice football played. Senegal looked surprisingly untroubled by Uruguay who had Suarez and Cavani up front. Held their shape, were robust in the challenge and scored too set piece goals...
Team GB give me hope for england's football future, despite the best performers being welsh, giggs, allen, ramsay, bellamy. Cleverley was a pass and move dynamo who wanted the ball, and was able to provide a pass. Sturridge, looked a class above when he came on, scored a great goal and begs the question why Stodrell/Snodrell??? the striker who started, was even being given it, as he was a bit Heskeyesque..
Don't think we'll win it, not enough game changers on te bench, might have been different with Bale, Walker, The Ox available as well.
But I'm looking forward to the quaterfinal that I have a ticket to on Saturday....
Ps Riding to Wembley is a piece of piss, if a little uphill, and they've got guarded bike parking for it as well..

Aquilani didn't want to play in the prem.. he wants italy and he's on a fair whack of wage.
I know what you mean, he looks like a very creative player if a little lightweight.

agger being courted by man city / barca and real madrid
shame really he would suit the rodgers way, bring ing the ball, out at feet, to the halfway lineif he does go lets hope a bidding war breaks out and the three richest clubs go for broke to get him
-
• #63247
Financial Fair Play. Remember those 3 words dicki. Rich teams hardly ever start a bidding war over a centre back. That only happens for forward thinking players, you'll get a low ball offer of £15m by Wednesday and a second offer of £18m by Friday.
The player's representatives will say that their player is honoured by the interest of such esteemed clubs yadda yadda yadda....
LFC dig in their heels and let him go for £20m and a youth player mid August. Rogers will be upset, and the fans will start another Yank$ No Thank$ campaign...

Roque santa cruz is still earning £110,000 a week at Man City?!
I've been trying to think if Adebayor is one of the most expensive ever flops in English football (shevchenko the other?) £170,000 a week wages and £25million fee plus additional 10% signing on fee.
They have paid at least 75% of his wages for the last 2 seasons. -
• #63249
tenderloin, I know we're in for trying to sign adebayor, but I wouldn't class him as a flop, Man City paid over the odds for him, as they have done with quite a few strikers, and he got the hump when more expensive/better players came down the pipe and he didn't get the first team love he wants/needs.
He scores goals when played, and works hard, City put him on £170k and if you were him you'd be loathe to relinquish the money as well.
Santa Cruz has done nothing apart from a sparkling season for Blackburn, and for his national side when called upon.
No player wants the big money transfer on their shoulders, but they'll take the wages hike on offer, press and fans label them as flops, when maybe those who bought them need to take a long hard look at themselves as well. Some players need a bit more man management, and some others need a system in place to get the best out of them.
