**England
GK** – Hart, Green, Ruddy
DF – Baines, Cahill, Cole, Johnson, Jones, Lescott, Terry
M – Barry, Downing, Gerrard, Lampard, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Parker, Walcott, Young, Milner
S – Carroll, Defoe, Rooney, WelbeckThere are pub teams around that could beat this hapless bunch. The Euros will be fun watching Engerland fail, again.

Carrick is such a melt

He was better when we had him as a junior alcoholic.

^^ ^^^^
Isn't it. Why not? Consistently good this season. Would work well with Parker. Not an ABU, too fucking tedious for words, but a Bristol City fan so what would I know eh?
No history that's our trouble.
What we do need though is another great lump up front. Perhaps you can let us have that goon when you finally move him on? -

Is Cleverly still injured? I think I'd take Cleverly with a broken leg before Henderson.
What does Micah Richards do that pisses everyone off so much? He's clearly the best English right-back, better at attacking and defending than Johnson.
ftfy
To answer your question, I guess it's a knack for winning trophies that pisses people off the most.

Cleverley is injured, and Carrick should at least be in reserve ahead of Jordan fucking Henderson.

If you think the England squad is a joke, you should have a look at the Holland one.
Provisional Netherlands squad
Goalkeepers: Tim Krul (Newcastle United FC), Maarten Stekelenburg (AS Roma), Michel Vorm (Swansea City AFC).Defenders: Vurnon Anita (AFC Ajax), Khalid Boulahrouz (VfB Stuttgart), Wilfred Bouma (PSV Eindhoven), John Heitinga (Everton FC), Joris Mathijsen (Málaga CF), Ron Vlaar (Feyenoord), Gregory van der Wiel (AFC Ajax), Jetro Willems (PSV Eindhoven).
Midfielders: Mark van Bommel (AC Milan), Nigel de Jong (Manchester City FC), Siem de Jong (AFC Ajax), Adam Maher (AZ Alkmaar), Stijn Schaars (Sporting Clube de Portugal), Wesley Sneijder (FC Internazionale Milano), Kevin Strootman (PSV Eindhoven), Rafael van der Vaart (Tottenham Hotspur FC)
Forwards: Ibrahim Afellay (FC Barcelona), Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (FC Schalke 04), Luuk de Jong (FC Twente), Dirk Kuyt (Liverpool FC), Jeremain Lens (PSV Eindhoven), Luciano Narsingh (sc Heerenveen), Robin van Persie (Arsenal FC), Arjen Robben (FC Bayern München).
Dirk Kuyt has even made the cut. Don't even get me started about the likes of Bouma and Bouhlarouz (the only good thing he did was the assault on C Ronaldo). Van Bommel is in the squad as well, purely because of his father in law.

Henderson I can only imagine as he's U21 captain.. no research needed.
Carroll is included as it was him or Crouch... and Terry was destroyed by him in the cup final.. I guess that's why he got the vote.
Richards is a really big omission for me, Possible he's said he's 100% behind the Ferdinand's so will have been excluded by choice?
Soon you'll all see long ball Woy's team in action

did anyone hear the radio 5 programme last night about the best 11 post war players
they chose a squad of 11 from the last 75 years
the most amazing bit was they chose neville southall in goal ... well thats what i thought until they started bringing in the tales of how amazing southall was
pat nevin, sharpe and another evertonian melt were practicing taking shots from 20 yards out at southall
after half an hour or so the players just gave up having not scored against him in that time ... they were just rolling around laughing ..... because southall had only used his feet knees and his head to stop the shots
pingers heading for the top corner he used to dive full on and head them out they said he could perceive where the shots were heading before they were strucksounds like an amazing bloke ... if a little fat

Not sure about Defoe instead of Sturridge, but with the Ox in the squad as well, along with Walcott and Young we've got enough players in that position.
Not sure what Richards (instead of Glen Johnson) and Adam Johnson have done wrong
But overall I'm very happy with that squad, and believe we can reach our expected level, which is the QF, maybe pushing for a SF spot (we are currently the 5th best country in Europe).
We are ranked well above all the others teams in our group (Sweden 9th, France 12th, Ukraine 14th), so should win it, and then face Spain or Italy who are both ranked above us. So getting a top 4 spot would be a success for me.

I thought Dirk had always played very well for the Dutch squad though?

That's the whole problem with English football, settle for mediocrity. And if you really think that the FIFA ranking is all there is to it than you're wrong. France will come up with a decent squad and finish top in the group. They're unbeaten for the last 10 games or so if memory serves me right. One loss straight after the WC and that's it. Not a bad record when you compare it to England, or any other team in Europe.

England will win the Euros with this squad for sure.

Still not much good though and I'd go Crouch over Carroll any day.
Terry's been shown up regularly this season and is a complete and utter arsehole. Obviously. You could have a point there about Richards. Can't think of a reason for his exclusion otherwise.
Anyway, as EBJT is is the squad and as Norway will not be delighting us with their silky skilz this time, I shall be transferring my allegiance to that magnificent Dutch squad for the duration of the Tournament.
Plenty of opportunity for some serious inter-squad squabbling there. Should be very entertaining. -

That's the problem with football fans, especially England fans, expecting too much.
Only 1 team can win the tournament, and there are better teams than us.

I thought Dirk had always played very well for the Dutch squad though?
Maybe 4 years ago. My gripe with him is that 1. He hasn't played enough. 2. There are better Dutch players in that position. 3. There is no end product (be it a goal or an assist). Hard work only gets you so far and the level of the team is so much higher than his that it's kind of embarrassing to watch him struggle to keep up.

John doesn't care who wins, just that the teams are accurately ranked.
Good point
