This has been Guardiola's undoing. He's allowed the whole club to be Messi centric. Look how many have left or come close to leaving because of it. They were at their best when playing 4-3-3. They really need a break and to reassess their modus operandi. Though this summer looks like it will offer little respite for them.
Now Maureen has finally overcome them will he really leave now for a cold wet Wednesday night in Stoke? Hopefully he was right about one thing, he didn't think Madrid would be seeing Chelsea in the final.
and it is so

The Italians are now considering leaving the player on the sidelines for the rest of the season to ensure he does not fill the necessary quota required to complete the move.
The bizarre agreement - arranged by former director of football Damien Comolli - is set to become a fresh source of frustration for Liverpool as they look to raise transfer funds.
Aquilani cost 20 million in 2009 and Liverpool have been trying to sell him for the last two years, despite the massive loss they will have to acceptHmm comolli shooting liverpool in the foot again !
He was Rafa's signing and Rafa hardly played him. Woy saw no need for him despite our lack of numbers in the middle. Kenny's fucking stubbonness with shoe-horning players that patently are NOT up to the job made NO move to bring him back. Yet Alberto's pre-season performances were top notch earning numerous MoMs.
Fuck to do with Comoli.

Pep is leaving Barca! Very surprised he is going, thought he would've wanted to leave on a high.

13 trophies in 4 seasons
quite a highbeing at the pinacle of world football there isn't really anywhere for him to go
the only way is down for him
quit while you are ahead and see if you can replicate that once againmore of a challenge than dragging barca on for another 2-3 years everyone comparing your current efforts with the team at their peak
it's a lose lose situation
he needs a new project -

i read that he wants to take a one year break from football. He went straight into management and coaching after playing. Id imagine hes pretty burnt out if hes quitting probably the best job in football management

we don't have the budget or the draw for him to get in the worlds best players .... currently
only city and chelsea could afford to buy the players he would require to make a good go of it
without having the players he had a barca he couldn't replicate the style of play
no messi no 50 goals a season no premiershit title at liverpool -

Possibly.

Barcelona probably play 60+ official games during the course of a season. Burnout is an understatement, the way he's involved with analysis, training, coaching and managing the team is beyond the imaginable. He pretty much works 12 hours a day 7 days a week, he has taken 4 weeks holiday over the the last 5 years.
Same goes for the players, never has a team dominated domestic and European football in such a way before, it's only normal for them to have a bit of a blip after playing football at such a high level virtually uninterrupted.

if it was 6 years ago, when we were winning the champion league and serial finalists with a decent crop of players he might have taken the gamble
but as you state we have a less good squad now and no champions league status so unless he fancies a challenge he'll go somewhere else -

Really enjoyed last nights game. I was supporting Lisbon though as our ex-player Insua has been playing rather well for them. Another one we should never had let go.
When you compare the squad we had 4 years ago to what we have now, it brings me to tears how low we have sunk :(
We have only been allocated 17500 tickets for the final. doesnt really seem fair
