FWIW, here's a reasoned response to the 'we should all move on':
http://www.kopsource.com/a-response-to-alan-davies/
I can sort of see the point but -
who the hell listens to fan podcasts of teams that they don't support? The whole things absurd, and reminds me of the Everton fan that reported Tommy Smith to DSS & got his disability allowance taken away after the former player took a penalty before a televised game in 90s.
The podcast is clearly aimed at Arsenal fans, talks about football in a completely biased way (references to Sp*rs as 'vermin' etc) but by the standards of, say, some of the sings that can be heard in Premier League grounds, is relatively moderate in tone. If you were offended by what was said, it was because you wanted to searched it out and made sure that you were.

"Reasoned" is a little generous for what is simply an emotional outburst.

I'll hazard a guess here and say Pisti for one

I only wish that Celine Dion had been a passanger.
I really wish that her heart hadn't gone on.

Well, reasoned compared to some of the stuff that's been directed at Davis' twitter account or posted on the Tuesday Club FB page.

The QPR appeal against the red card from Young's dive while off-side is rejected.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/apr/10/qpr-shaun-derry-manchester-united
FA says QPR player denied Young a goalscoring chance
How ridiculous is that?
Meanwhile Wigan get an apology

Dicki, I went to many dangerous grounds in those days when we were penned into tiny spaces and abused by the police. Yes, anyone of those places could have turned into a Hillsborough and I could have been crushed to death. If I had, I would not want people having minute's silence 23 years later and wearing black armbands. Instead I would be happy to see that steps have been taken to ensure that nothing like it happens again. Football should be a celebration not a mawkish necromance.
People had died on many tragedies. Do we stop in silence on motorways, hotels or eaters because people have died there? Do the trains halt at Moorgate or Kings Cross to recall those who died? Why football and why this one out of many disasters?
I agree with the sentiment about it being time to move on. However, if it were you that was accused of urinating on and stealing from the pockets of your children that lay stone cold dead on that football pitch you might see it differently. Sadly we'll never know if it is a sense of guilt that has allowed this to go on so long.
This may well have been consigned to history had the Establishment not behaved the way they did. -

Grievances with The Sun and with the investigation into the causes of the tragedy are understandable but concern those involved and their families not Chelsea and Tottenham supporters.
Stephen Lawrence's family have suffered dreadfully due to police and judicial incompetence and worse. We do not stand in silent commemoration of him at every bus stop. Nor should we.

I've been saying this for years.
We should have sold him to Chelsea when they offered silly money.
He's been one of our most important players, and always has supplied those Olympiacos moments, but too often teams seem to be built to fit him in (Liverpool and England), to the potential detriment of others.
If he played every game it would be one thing, but he's been injured so much it must be disruptive.
It's the reason he has the Stevie Me tag. He is and has played under tactically inept press and managers who've decided he is a central midfield palyer. His positional sense is piss poor and he doesn't have the patience in possession, instead opting for a 60yd pass that isn't on rather that keep it ticking over. He lets players run off him too easily and doesn't consider the team's shape. Rafa had it right: stick him in a position where he's least harmful to his own team and can cause maximum damage to the opposition see 05-06 season. Sadly the rest of midfield has been so poor he's been played there....again something Rafa wouldn't allow.

As it's Liverpool, will they be able to loan a GK now? The FA will bend the rules and they'll probably loan Reina back to themselves

How about they have KKK and Steve Clarke behind the goal with a remote control goalkeeper? Get Blatter to knock something up in Teh Rulez quick!
-
• #56474
Or....they could have no goalkeeper and just put a big wooden panel covering up the goal but it's got a 15" hole in the middle for us to aim at, you know like chucking a wet sponge down the fair

....some hilarious quotes from some psuedo-cliveo on RAWK, the money they paid for Downing, some more un-pc descriptions of suarez....
Football thread back on form, it's been a while!
