United's new spend is offset by £80m for Ronaldo. They do eschew spending big as part of a club culture, but because Uncle Malcolm and sons are busy siphoning it off. Has any other team in this country even come close to paying £19m for a goalkeeper ?
Arsenal used to be big spenders, but in the glory era under Wenger preferred to have a large wage bill of cheap but good players from Europe.
Barcelona have pissed away a fortune, though have got good/lucky at spotting young talent of late.

at least we are behind chelski and man city
the BIG spenders
without ronaldo's sale united would be on 12.8mn per yearlook at everton pleading poverty with their £2.6mn spend every season tsk
and spurs shouldn't be getting away without a bit of a slagging off for their transfer spending they're not far behind the big 4 and what have they won ?

Arsenal have £50 million unspent. Bet Wenger wishes he had spent it on Torres.

Lucky you, Aix-en-Provence is a really beautiful town. I don't have any family in the south, if I did I would go all the time. They are mostly in Burgundy.
The village (La Roque d'Antheron) is just on the other side of the hills from Aix, in the Durance valley. Went back there for the first time in 20 years in 2006. Totally changed. There's a english speaking estate agent in the village, and boutiques etc. It's the Peter Mayle effect*, I believe.

Good gif. Well timed. Quick, strong come back and appropriate use of "knob-jockey".
I call that one a draw.

Fuck me you Arsenal fans are as tetchy as your manager lately.

Isn't this the "February fall to bits" that Arsene treats the fans to every year?

Wenger's from Strasbourg, if only there were some Francophiles on this forum, to tell us how this may have shaped his upbringing.

If you're not careful, you and the Chelsea fans will go into a downward spiral of arguing back and forth how good you used to be, where it all went wrong, and talking optimistically of finishing 6th and getting into the Europa league.
My warning is, if you're not careful, you'll become Liverpool.

I am one, my knowledge is limited to the area near Bill's ancestors I'm afraid, so I cannot help.

It probably means that he is partial to a sausage or two, particularly if served with pickled cabbage, smart-arse.

Oh, wait...

It's a conspiracy. UEFA, the FA, David Cameron & the BBC are out to get us.
Don't open that can of worms Bill. The whole net spend debate is going to flare up in 5 minutes.
The Man Utd data is completely distorted by the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo of course, add in the the £80M that Utd received for him and that data should become a little more relevant.
