Whereas Wenger signing Thierry Henry is a master stroke?
Where did I say that? To be honest, it saddens me a lot because a) you should never, ever go back and b) it means Wenger has no plans to buy a striker to ease the burden on RVP.
As for United, they need energy and guile in midfield, not Fat Frank.

I know it goes against THE RULEZ but as someone who went to University in Manchester, I've a soft spot for both United and City. I spent many happy Saturday afternoons watching them labour to beat the likes of Luton and Oldham.

In all seriousness, if it's sad to see Wenger running out of ideas, what makes him think that old strikers are suitable for the PL is beyond me. Arsenal's game is based on pace and passing movement and I've got a feeling Henry will end up as a spectator.
As for Utd - if they can get hold of someone like Diarra or Tiote (providing he becomes more consistent) than perhaps Carrick can start to provide a few good passes for the strikers instead of Rooney dropping deep time and again.

Thierry Henry is an absolute legend of the game and I think he will add something, if only character and leadership. I don't think Wenger has really done much wrong here.

Where will Henry play? Surely not up top??? Attacking mid?
-

Why not up front?

Too slow to make an impact I reckon.

You have a short memory. Henry was an astonishingly skillful player, but his on field petulance and very public shows of disapproval when players didn't pass to him showed he was not a leader.

I remember that, but I was thinking about off the pitch. I would think that having him around the dressing room and training ground would be useful (or at least that is the type of thing managers and players always say). Maybe he will help Wenger rediscover his mojo?

I don't know how much pace he has lost in the last two years, but he looked sharp enough at Barca.

Weren't him and that sulky wanker Evra also responsible for Frances disgraceful showing at the last World Cup?

Chronic hamstring injury has severely impacted his play according the latest version of Hard Gras which I've picked up over Christmas. Apparently NYRB are not too keen on the loan move and are holding things up at present.

Ferguson has dismissed rumours linking Fat Frank with United - "you don't sign second rate players".

The level of hype Jones has received is indicative of why England will never win a major trophy again.
"The new Duncan Edwards"

Someone did a list of the players whom the press have compared Phil Jones with: -
Duncan Edwards (though few people alive saw him play)
Franco Baresi
Bobby Moore
Franz Beckenbauer
Paolo MaldiniI suppose after last night we can add Gerd Muller.
You can add Gerhard Burger!

He has been there and done it, won everything.. that counts for a lot. he is also well respected and has matured now the pressure is off, he can go out and enjoy it with nothing to prove. the team isn't about him now, he is coming in as a helping hand and mentor. we will see a very different Henry.
I for one can't wait to see him play every week again. watching RVP and Ramsey is good but this could just make it.
i agree with what you say though. Wenger needs to sign another striker this month or top 4 is going to be a leap of faith
