  • How's Jordan Henderson doing this season ?

I don't see why people hold up this Henderson as a sign of how shit we are like some kind of torch.

How's your captain doing by the way?

He's a kid we overpaid for who is also the england U21 captain, so what? least we now have the money to overpay for players

    expect more in Jan

Vincent Kompany is fine thank you very much.

  • Strange shaped head though.

  • Learning from David Silva too apparently

World Class Pass - Vincent Kompany - YouTube

  • I wonder how much City or Chelsea will pay for him in the summer? I reckon £70million

And if they do, we should sell him.

  • Strange shaped head though.

Looks like something from the midnight garden.
As for SIlva... he wouldn't look out of place in an anorak and piece of cardboard explaining his hard life, sat up out side some shop on regent street.

  • Has anyone any thoughts about ver englnad match?

I thought we were positively negative. If that makes sense. Jose (at Inter) would have been proud.

  • England Circa '92 Graham Taylor's got himself some flash new glasses and an Italian accent.

  • Me and Clive are going to Chelsea v Liverpool on Sunday!

    *plastic

  • Don't worry G, I'll look after you. What size do you take in replica shirts? Shall I get you one of those half and half "friendship" scarves?

  • Don't know what positives you can take out of it tbh damo. Some stout defending and last ditch tackles is nothing to be proud of. 29% Possession, shot on the post and a couple of bad misses is nothing to boast about, whichever way you look at it. Inter's CL win has shown since that it was a bit of a fluke.
They managed to win over two games against the run of play and at least to me it shows that back to the wall defending and hitting them on the break is not a good long term strategy.

The only positive is the number of young players that were on the pitch, if only Capello would play them more often together than the team wouldn't look so disjointed.

  • ^ one word...

    GREECE!

Clive, just take an extra one of your shirts.

  • I thought it was great. The boss said "play like this". The team did. We won.
Thus showing that at least 11 players in England are capable of listening and not "bombing on".
They denied space, they pressed, they harried. They prevented the other team from playing and took their chance. Against better teams this is not a crazy plan.

  • Damo,

The Blizzard are doing a vol 3 launch at foyles.

And anyone else who might be interested of course

  • lol I love the fact that even though we (England - not that anyone really gives a fuck) beat the World and European champions, people are still moaning.

  • actually come to think of it Jonny is better for this important reason...he refuses to score from 3 yards by slamming the ball as hard as he can. Anything within 10 yards has to be rolled over the line somehow. It's degrading to score otherwise.

I have seen him administering Chinese burns on his own arms as punishment for not gracing the ball over the line, harmony was lost between man and ball and a price had to be paid..

haha, thanks for the props guys. been enjoying all the nice touch banter. zidane gets my vote. silva is the obvious choice of the current premiership crop.

but for out and out excitement i like to see a player who can take a man on, and i don't mean the out and out speed merchants like bale.

oh, and fuck all this international friendly bullshit. it totally overshadowed R1 of the FA Cup and that is a shame.

  • Indeed, R1 of the FA Cup is important to Man U fans as it gives them the opportunity to size up the minnow that the warmed balls of the R3 draw will throw up for them.

  • i love you clive

  • i love warm balls

    29 - 71 %possesion, 3 - 21 attempts at goal, says it all really...

Saturday England finally admitted they are rubbish and played like a conference team would against United, City, Arsenal..

Has the (in)famous England arrogance finally gone?.. or are we just building up another hopeless team based on tenuous positives for another pathetic tournament?

  • give it util at least after christmas before the press have convinced you that you are going to win it.

then a broken toe to the big star will have a nation distraught, two weeks before the start.

  • Don't worry G, I'll look after you. What size do you take in replica shirts? Shall I get you one of those half and half "friendship" scarves?

I'll be wearing my Arsenal shirt with Arteta on the back
