This whole thing about Kenny to my mind was his was way of slagging off the ref's performance without getting sanctioned. Now it's out there he's not in trouble, we'll see if it makes a difference at spurs on sunday if anything contentious happens

Quotes like "We need a strong referee for this game" and "I think the ref has been a bit inexperienced there" etc are quotes designed to undermine the refs performance and get the FA to be more favourable to United without censuring them. It's about time someone else started with these games and Kenny obviously feels he is the man for it.

Benitez's first full season led to winning the Champions League. Hodgson signed up to a club that was on the verge of a mutiny, with so much going on behind the scenes it would have been a tough job for anyone.
