Q: What significant investors have arrived since then?
-
• #37803
To be exact it was 2006
Not that long ago in modern terms

• #37804
A fucking lifetime in football terms.

Q: What significant investors have arrived since then?
Errr, have you seen the cunt in charge of our club? He's an ex Corrie actor FFS that cares more about getting celebs on seats watching his 'Band Of Brothers' shit in the westend!

So, Kenwright never invested. But I thought all you needed was a good manager and a steady team?
Edit: Q: What significant investors, in the premier league, have arrived since then? -

A fucking lifetime in football terms.
Only if you support Derby

So, Kenwright never invested. But I thought all you needed was a good manager and a steady team?
Exactly. That's what we did, with NO major investment. The problem was the season after finishing 4th, he never invested to sustain our CL standing. He feared 'doing a Leeds'

Right. So.
We're agreed that investment is needed for a club to move forward/into 4th? Right?So...
How much have Citeh spent? How much are Arsenal,United and Chelsea squads worth? There's a bigger barrier to 4th now. Given that Arsenal (who looked shaky at times last season, yet still finished 3rd), Chelsea (who are doing well in 2nd. again), United (winners again) are all likely to finish in the top 4, Citeh are too. To improve a squad to 4th place, such as Liverpool look to want to do, will require a significant investment again.Does that make sense?

Libpool seems to have more deluded 'cretins' than most though. They make Newcastle fans look sensible
And the 'bitter' tag is so dated, Kopites are doing just nicely taking over that mantle
there are a lot of us/them so yeah you're going to pick up melts and keyboard warriors just the way things are these days. Surprised you've not tapped into the twitter feeds yet, good god there are some tards out there
the bitter tag is kept alive by your lot continually looking all over red forums scraping up the above and passing it off as general consensus no?
-
• #37812
We're an injury free season from finishing in the top 4 with a full first team, done it before, could do it again
I know, I know....if my aunty had bollocks.....
-
• #37813
^^^ Totally agree Day-moe. butyou don't hear me bitching about our owners getting the cash out or comparing X player with X player at so many mil... it's all bollocks

How many players from the 2005 Everton squad are still there?
Probably about 8

• #37817
To be exact it was [STRIKE]2006[/STRIKE] when Everton were a half decent team, but still unable to get through the qualifiers

I would suggest that listening to the comment is free/RAWK/tim lovejoy fanboys then you will only ever hear rubbish.

• #37821
"it's been improved since"
What!? from 4th to, what was it, 7th this season? And last season. 4th was your high water mark.
-
• #37822
He only deals in FACT, Day-Moe.
It's in TEH rulez.
-
• #37823
With inflation the way it is, 7th is the new 4th.
FACT.

Someone from RAWK:
Is it against the realms of possibility that Clarke and Kenny deliberately instructed the midfield to allow the full-backs to get exposed one-on-one a few times to allow for some training of defending against wingers? Sunderland for example are likely to play with two fast, tricky wide players in midfield. Or am I clutching at straws?

but, it was 2005, Everton got 61 point, scoring 45 goals.
4th place ever since has been:
Arsenal, 67 Point, and worst season from them for ages
Arsenal, 68 Point
Liverpool, 76 Points
Arsenal, 72 points, Everton came 5th with 63 Points
Tottenham, 70 Points
Arsenal, 68 PointsSo from that the only season Everton managed to qualify for Champions league it was from the lowest total in 7 year, and with 45 goals scored and a GD of -1 it was clearly a freak anomaly never to be repeated. The 63 points that were Everton's highest total would still never be enough to qualify for Champions league.
Q: How long ago was 2005?
