Yes, Baines. Didn't he havesettling issues and self belief problems when arriving? perhaps that's what has put the bigger clubs off. talentaside, as hehisgood.

Just a German Everton fan in. Waffling on about Baines and wait for it - Joey Barton.

He did comment on how much his season ticket was last season...

Dunno if anyone has read this http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2011/jul/03/football-fan-attacked disugusting, pigs handcuffed an inocent football fan and set a dog on his face.

He lives over here or he flew over every fortnight? Isn't that just for Norwegians and Irish?
-
• #36582
He live here, in London according to the address he left with me. W8 in fact - nice part of the world.
His story stacks up too, according to teh rulez - old man (from Hamburg, no less) was plonked in Liverpool with his young wife (something to do with civic architecture or something). She falls pregnant and the gives birth to him. Went to a game as soon as he was old enough and Everton thrashed 'em. His even said that his old man never liked LFC because they sent the bubble-permed child molester to Hamburg. So Everton are his team.

Cliff Argur, referred to in the article is a leading member of the Chelsea Supporters Group.

Just read the article about Argur as well, setting dogs on him, kicking him in the ribs when he is on the ground and punching his 15 year old sun in the face. Go Police!

No better than the thugs they're supposed to patrol.

He only had a year remaining on his contract, so I think £7m is a lot to be honest.
you're right but city tax is being applied surely?
-
• #36588
Yeah but he's shit. Atleast Baines is safe with us
rumours linking him to us lately... I suspect wishful thinking fishing rumours
Liverpool are releasing all their tickets for the games up to christmas next week... could be expensive. Fancard holders get first crack... just me then? I'll have to rely on mates for the Manu game as I don't have the credits for that, but we'll see
could be a real ball ache if you buy a ticket and the game gets moved to a monday night for example given you've bought so far in advance.
Any other clubs doing this?

Maybe there is some truth in the Joey Barton to Arsenal rumours after all.
-
• #36590
I've heard Scott Parker and Joey Bartion are both likely to go to the Emirates.

City paid £7m for Clichy, the market's fucked!!
Cheap when you consider Jose has just forked out £27m for a left-back.
The markets fucked indeed. Damo, are there any books out there on the economics of football? Could European football be facing a meltdown on par with RBS?

Parker's worn red before (wipes tear) and Barton sees red everywhere he goes.

Start with David Conn (yes, of the guardian) and go from there. Premier clubs: fucked. Spanish clubs: fucked. German clubs:not fucked.
So while everyone but the germans have been winning things in europe, the germans have been waiting till everyone implodes under financial weight.

Mate, we finished 7th in a league, which, at one point that looked like we might be fighting to stay up. We are not a big club. We can't fight City, Chelsea, MunchU finacially. I'd get used to keeping your feet firmly on the ground, CP.
Re Tevez:
I like the fact that City now have the power to say to Tevez, "you've signed, we'll either let you rot or we'll take you to court"
It's about time someone out their foot down. FFS there's a suggestion he'll end up in Milan where it rains as much as it does in Manchester and Spain is no closer to home than Moss Side!! -

Which is a shame really because it'll be the usual bilge from now on.

I'm talking about Baines not Coentrau, but you're right we can't compete in the $$$ especially with a smaller ground capacity
