To Liverpool presumably, where he can continue being a medium sized fish in a small puddle.
yeah he's coming to lfc the 14 is including the maximum add ons etc for Holloway

Liverpool are throwing money away, I just sent them an email, asking if they wanted to sign me for 2million.
better on players than on interest payments though

£14mill for Charlie Adam to head to Liverpool.
that's £49million of Torres' fee gone.
I wouldn't say it's the best re-investment of money. their defence is still whack! I don't think charlie Adam's the kind of guy who's going to boss the middle of the park IMO.

I understand the economics of the deal, but Torres not staying at Liverpool seems a shame.
But maybe I'm buying into all those scouse myths that were shattered by Mickey Thomas all those years ago @ Anfield.

That we're not signing a knackered striker?
(Torres or Carroll both fit this bill)your loan deal with Ayala is off due to a dodgy hammy

Mickey Thomas is one of my most favourite players ever. A true hero and legend. Even if he did once play for Liverpool. Him and Joey Jones. Greatest Chelsea players of all time. FACT

Kenny Dalglish keen to sign Andy Carroll as someone who Liverpool fans can identify with. Looks like a thieving pikey? Check. Woman-beating thug? Check. Barely intelligible? Check. Bound to be a huge disappointment? Check. He just has to work on the self-pity side of his game and the boy could be a legend.
Genius.

That isn't necessarily so, without knowing what wages Torres, Carroll & Adams are / were / will be on, you can't be sure what the numbers are.
It may be that Torres is on a lot more than Carroll & Adams combined, in which case it's net profit.

The two of them played with all the enthusiasm of the crowd. That is all I ask from players. Loved them both to bits and I'm not ashamed to say so.

I can only assume Mickey Thomas sorted out Clive with a suitcase of dodgy ten pound notes to buy the Islington mansion.

"Actually you shouldn't be surprised by the Andy Carroll signing/offer/whatever it is right now. The Fenway guys just spent $142m on a left-fielder (Carl Crawford) over the next seven years and are going to resign a first baseman (Adrian Gonzalez) for probably about the same amount of money. So $56m for a young striker is next to nothing for these guys."

....suarez?
It's very quiet on the Suarez front. Maybe too quiet.
That should have been signed up last night.
also, Suarez was after a Spanish speaking core to the team. you've got Pepe Reina and Maxi Rodriguez, but that's hardly a core is it?

Carroll is worth more than David Villa.
Hahahahahaha

Fair enough; what would be your favourite Chelsea XI?

I'd say he's worth more to Newcastle than Villa to Valencia.

Without some sort of context for those numbers, ie what left-fielders & 1st basemen go for, this statement is a bit meaningless. The Red Sox run at a profit, and I should think that is what the plan for Liverpool is.

I'd say he's worth more to Newcastle than Villa to Valencia.
You can't compare apples and pears. Villa was the top scorer at Valencia for 5 years in a row and on top of that he got an average of 10+ assists per season.
Considering they started with a £4.5M bid that's good business from Blackpool.
